Could someone give me the approximate date range that these machines were manufactured and also an approximate cost when new?

Thanks,
Eric

Thanks - Any chance you could pass along the serial # so I could compare it to the one I'm looking at? My email is good if you'd rather...

Thanks for the help

New Holland parts web site says this model was built from Apr. 1977 to July 1995.

Parts book mentions several minor revisions at a serial number break of 470734, so I don't know what number they start.

My serial number is in the low 500100 range and was delivered by the dealer to my dad in early 1979.

Ford bought the New Holland company in 1986, so maybe you can guess the age if it's does or doesn't say "Sperry" on the side.
When exactly did NH drop the Sperry name and adopt the Blue Oval on the builder's plate?

Somewhere around 88/89 they dropped the Sperry name and started putting the Ford emblem on their machines. Somewhere around 94/95 they dropped the Ford emblem and started putting the old fiat emblem painted blue on their machines. Our 358 is around an 85 or 86 and it still has the Sperry name. We have a 90 575 square baler with the Ford emblem and I know they were out a year before that.
