Put a new seal kit on lift cylinder for john deere 630 disk (AN240361). Came to find out that we need hydraulic cylinder rod guide. Local dealer says we have to buy a whole new cylinder.

It's part number 15 I am looking for in the schematic.

Davis welding in Gibson City IL builds all sizes of cylinders and parts. If they don't have the part they can make it.

Hmmm that looks much like the style of cylinder (end cabs and how it all fits togther) I broke on my new snow blade last fall. Dealer wanted 250 for the whole thing and said parts other than seals were not available. But I bought the end piece right from the manufacture of the cylinder for $40 with shipping. I had to go through one of their retail outlets they refered me too.

My snow blade was made in the USA but hydrualic cylinder's were made in Saskatchewan at Ram industries. http://www.ramindustries.com/

I emailed them and they put me through to a retail outlet. The retail place I bought it from were good and knew exactly what I had.

I have an email in m profile, email me and I'll pass along the email of the parts lady I dealt with...just have to find it. Or email ram industiers and see if they made that cylinder 1st.

Deere doesn't have the part because its a Cessna Wyrlock cylinder. Find a dealer for Cessna cylinders. Its not Baum Hydraulics at least not in their catalog section M from a few years ago. www.baumhydraulics.com
Then maybe Surplus Center has a suitable cylinder or parts.

Maybe Force.

I was very please with the repair these guys did on my planter cylinders. Dealer's parts man told me they could only get new cylinder, then whispered there name as a place to check :). In Mt. Vernon, north of town off Rt37.
