| Those around the north east Nebraska area (in Madison Nebraska) might enjoy a stop in here. It is an ever changing model train layout, built by some dedicated members. This place is great for kids. I got some pictures and video of the place, but it is better in person. Check it out!

Crawford County, Robinson, Illinois | The above picture is an astounding layout, if you like it you must see the railroad museum near Intercourse, Pennsylvania. It has many layouts similar, and also several tracks full of cars. |

Zabcikville, TX | I'm not sure what the fascination with model trains is! All little boys (me, at 40 included) are still amazed by them! I don't have a layout, nor does my son. Just the regular oval. We can watch that thing go round and round for hours. I've always wanted to make a real layout with buildings, houses, switches, and such. Time and lack of knowledge (of how to hook all of that up) hinders that though! |

| I agree. I just don't understand the fascinations either. I'm 33 and never had much to do with them until the last year. My dad had an American Flyer set from the 50's that he took down when I was very small and I vaguely remember it. Fast forward to last year and we bought a house from a good friend/neighbor and she gave me her sons old Lionel set, also from the 50's. That sparked me to get dads old set out also. I have both the Lionel and American Flyer up and running as well as a cheap HO setup for my son. I have several operating cars and setups including a drum loader, stock yard, milk car, and Lionel helicopter reconasaince car. I haven't had time to mess with them since late winter and I can't wait to get back down in the basement to play again. It's addicting and could become a very expensive hobby. |

NW VA | Here's a good one within driving distance of us here in VA, set up in a hardware store for a few weeks during the Christmas season. It has more animated operations going on than you can take in with one visit.

One of these days I will get the video I have of my layout that me and my dad built when I was little. It is on Hi8 so the transfer will take a while. We had it wired so you could run 3 trains at once on different tracks and run the sidings separately. Wired with lights and mountains and everything. |

WC Franklin Co., In. | There's a place just north of Cincinnati called EnterTRAINment Junction. If you are interested in model trains and are in the area, it is a must see. It's billed as the largest indoor model train RR and is quite impressive. http://www.entertrainmentjunction.com/ |
