sc ks | We are looking at buying New Hollands Preservative setup for our Hesston 4790 does anybody run these? Pros or cons? We would rather go this route if it works. We don't like the acid because of it being corrosive and this stuff is noncorrosive and its only $800.00. |

| Last I checked New Holland still uses Harvest preservative and application equipment same as hesston. Harvest tec preservative is simple buffered acid with an inflated price. I know harvest tec claims it is non corrosive but that is pushing it in my opinion. It is less corrosive than non buffered acid bit that is about it. |

candor ny | Small square baler I got came with harvest tec/new hooland applicator and used it for first time last year on all second and this year on what little I have baled and chamber behind pickup was as shiny as when I parked it last fall and did nothing special but run the last 30 bales or so with it off. I use cropsaver mainly because I can get it in small quanities ie 15 gallon jugs. |

central ohio..between Springville and Millbrook. | I have new Holland kits on my big square baler and every small square baler. I buy the Cargill preservative though...I think it works a lot better.
In my opinion ALL preservatives are corrosive...just some more than others.
The last year I used new Holland preservative there was a small leak put of one of the fittings that dripped less than a gallon total on the top of the baler throughout the winter. I pulled that 570 baler out in the spring and (without exaggeration) there was NO paint left on that baler on the area below the tank or on the side of the baler all the way to the bottom..it had rusted the hinges on the chamber door so badly I couldn't even open it anymore. I think I got 6,000.00 less trade in on that machine than I usually get.

Woodham, Ontario | New Holland does not make it. It is made by harvestec and they supply all manufacturers. I use their latest ISOBUS system on a NH BB340 baler and it seems to work well. Use the hay preservative from New Holland, no rust issues but I usually rinse off the pickup after use. |

DV, NV | As others mentioned its a harvest tec applicator. The acid will destroy the paint on the pickup and wind guard. Even if you wash it every day. We have one on our 4790 but it's an older unit and we are having issues with every component. Looking at dry product applicators for my Krone balers. Tired of harvest tec. The product does work but our system is too unreliable
I've replaced all clear braided lines with red Parker brand hose, all white fittings with black plastic, harvest tec rebuilt the computer, dealer rebuilt all pumps, it's been a maintenance hassle all along
They need to ditch the three pump and variable voltage nonsense and come out with a better constant pressure type pump.
The moisture meter works really well. That's the only good part of the system |
