Western EC Iowa | Today the leveling valve mounting bolts broke. So, went and got a new one. Near as I can tell it is the same thing. Problem is, now when the switch in the cab is in the normal running position, it dumps, and in the dump position, the bags air up. The valve works when I run the linkage manually. First pick is the old valve. Supply fitting is missing, it is just to the right of the green taped fitting. Then two pics of the instructions for the valve we got. In the schematic, the valve is flipped over compared to the picture of the old valve. Only thing I didn't think of while there working on it is maybe I can rotate the linkage mounting bolt 180 degrees. Other than that, I am out of ideas... Thanks for any help. Dearfield Co. | Must be a pre 94 pete? or possibly a volvo. The replacement valves are not compatible with the dump valves so the switch is backwards. So in other words what used to take air to dum p from the dash switch now needs air to stay inflated. Oh can't see the pics yet that might help if they come up

Dearfield Co. | Well I would clean the old valve up so I could read the port labels and compare it with how I have it plumbed now. Then I would call my parts source and make sure I had the valve that was plumbed the same as the old one. My guess is where its a internal dump on this valve its either wrong or plumbed wrong . The early petes and vovlvos that converted from the seal tech valve to this all were opposite of the originals on how they dumped. This might be a similar issue

Western EC Iowa | I'll check it tomorrow, but I am 99% sure I have it right. I switched some hoses around thinking I had something backwards, but to no avail. Could well be the valve looks right but is wrong. Thank you very much. Ben

Could well be the valve looks right but is wrong. Thank you very much. Ben You got a valve for a trailer that is set to auto dump when the parking brake is applied. That's what the "supply gladhand" port is. When you send air to it the dump closes. When you exhaust air the suspension dumps. It's possible some trucks were setup with valves like this too, the ones I've been around all send air to the dump valve whether integral or separate. It's obvious yours is setup this way as well. Take the valve back and get one setup for what you need. I just put the same valve on our freightliner don't remember the number though, believe it was a velvac.

Wi | SamsDad - 6/24/2015 21:14 Excellent... Thanks again, guys. The one that I had to replace most recently was a Barksdale KD2205. Just for a reference to one that is similar to what you are looking for, may not be exact.
