I have a 6400, and love it. The 6410 is an updated 6400, and as such, I've heard few bad comments about them. I sometimes cuss the Euro engineering in them, but overall, they're good tractors.

ncia | I also have a 6400 that i bought somewhat impulsively used. I like it a bunch. I would get another one. Any 10 series jd tractor has a great reputation.

Leesburg, Ohio | Bought a used 6400 with about 4000 hrs on it, and ran it to about 5000 hrs. Really nice, handy, smooth operating tractor. Would still have it, but had the opportunity to trade up to a used 6430 for reasonable amount. Weakest part of the 6400 was the AC. I would buy one again. Not sure if there were any significant changes between the 00 and the 10's.

Southern Pa. | Bought a new 1997 6400 back in the day. Great tractor. Sold it, bought a late model 6410. Tractor was reliable and got the job done. However, it lacked the power of the 6400, even though they are rated at 90 PTO vs 85 for the 6400. Also always wanted to run warm for some reason compared to the 6400. Otherwise it worked great. Good luck!

Massachusetts | We have a 6415 with a loader on the front. It's an okay tractor for light duty jobs but it seems to always overheat on us! It runs so hot all the time it makes pushing pile or any other moderate load activity such a chore. Always getting out to clean screens and filters, turning the heat on when it's 90 degrees outside the cab. A pain. Other have had the same problem and we all think it's a problem with the four cylinder engines. Go with the six cylinder if possible. Will be better in short and long term

Central Michigan | We have a been through our share of hours on 64xx series tractors. Only major problems have been in the fuel pump/fuel lines. I wouldn't call them extreme though. Ours have seen their fair share of drawbar, 3 pt, and pto work and haven't skipped a beat. I hope the 6R series that they are replacing them with will be as reliable 20 years from now.

ohio | I bought a new 6410 back around 2001. It always seemed to run hot on the gague pulling a 15ft batwing mower if it was 90 degres out.Deere changed the temperature sensor, but that didn't help.Turned out to be a bad dash unit. They had to replace the whole dash to replace the temp unit.It runs about 3/4 of the way over in the green on a hot day know.

North Central IN | 6410 MFWD, 2600 hrs. Brakes went, wasn't cheap. Have heard PTO problems also. Other than that, pretty satisfied, hard working tractor. Must keep radiator screens under hood clean in summer or will overheat. Have pulled 3 point, 7 knife anhydrous bar and pull type tank when 4455 went down. Ran 1600 MoCo, HX20 batwing, raked with double rotor semi mount Kuhn rake, but mostly baler and loader duty now. Deere 459. Would buy again.

Depends on the day, otherwise SW Franklin Co, MO | My experience is from a 6310, so basically the same. Excellent utility tractor, pretty poor for anything more. Ergonomics are really good, cab is good and quiet, good lights, motor has been reliable. We have over 7,000 hours on ours and the only work on the motor was for a leaky seal around the front cover. Even the injector pump is still original. The LH reverser makes loader work fast and easy. Hydraulics make a loader move fast. The turbo 4 does not seem to make any too much power, and the cooling system can barely handle 100% duty cycle. It was nearly useless to try to run the A/C while cutting or baling hay. As mentioned before, the fuel lines were junk from the factory, but that's not the end of the world. What darn near can be, though, is Mother Deere used a barbed fitting and hose clamps to fasten one of the hoses to the main hydraulic filter (which is located in about the dumbest place I could imagine locating a filter). We lost that connection at least three times going down the road, and if you don't notice the wet tire, the first indication is when the steering and brakes don't work and the pump starts screaming at you. It's lovely laying under an oil-covered tractor on the side of the road. They are a utility tractor, and are very good at being that. Just don't expect them to go beyond.

West central Illinois | Solid hard working tractors. Mine will run warm if you keep it under a load when it's really hot. 5800 hours with very little problems. 01 model open station with mfd and loader. Hate to think how many hay bales that sucker has moved. Great tractors.

Western IA | Bought a 6410 new now has 10800 hours on it feeding cattle loading manure and everything in between been a great tractor have put a hydraulic pump, injectors and fuel pump on it everything else has been minimal. I don't think you will be disappointed!
