Getting ready to trade for the above machine now that the summer discounts are in full effect. Currently run a 637 Disc on the stalks in the fall, and a 727 Soil Finisher in the spring to finish everything off. Kind of thought the 2623 would be a nice in-between tillage that wasn't quite a true vertical tillage machine, but wasn't quite a disc.

Ordering it with the flat bar rolling baskets, the .256 disc blades, and the TouchSet Depth Control option.

Any words of advice before I take the plunge? Options to order differently? Machine that is far better? It was not a fun spring watching the 726 plug every half round, even after all the stalks had been hit with the disc.

ran a demo 2623vt with basket in same field as our turbo-max. tmax didn't plug, finally gave up and floated the basket on the 2623. it makes it blacker, but even where I ran the basket, the t-max did such a nicer job planting beans into it. this was on corn stalks behind a stalkmaster head with stomps on all rows. planted soybeans into it this spring (this is our normal program) planterman was very happy to get done what the demo machine had ran on....

If your wanting a disk that fluffy like a cultivator machine
that's what our experience with a demo was. We bought a turbo max and kept my disk. The 2623 moves more dirt but I didn't like the bounce it got at higher speeds. That and I wanted a firmer seed bed than it left. We're much happier with our turbo.

If your wanting something like a disk then look into the newer case 330 turbo. Whatever it's called now.

Demoed one last fall on bean stubble going to winter wheat, not overly impressed. I sowed wheat behind it and I thought the ground was choppier than what our 630 disk did side by side. Would be real interested to see what one with a round bar harrow would do.

We demoed a 2623VT and at higher speeds the wings would bounce and left the ground uneven. Bought a landoll instead.

Agree with nene. Did not like the Deere. Could not pull at higher speeds and get a level job. Bought a Landoll and have been happy with it.

The 2623VT is the farthest from VT of them all. I thought it was their regular series (637?) of disk when I first saw it.

+2 on Landoll. Demoed a Deere VT, not even close to a Landoll. Wings on the Deere will bounce at higher speeds and it moves to much dirt and ridges.

There seem to be zero of them around here. Large Deere dealer sells all Landoll.

+3 on the Landoll. Bought it from the local Deere store and love it, had it 2 years now. Salesman demoed the 2623 just after he came to see the Landoll run and doesn't recommend the Deere. Landoll is aggressive for VT but not as aggressive as the 2623 imo

We bleed green, but have a Case 330. If that tells you anything.

Traded our case 330 on one when they first came out. Hated that thing. To aggressive for what I wanted to do with it and couldn't seem to get a level finish out of it. Very happy with the Excelerator that we have now. Whatever you are wanting to do with it, I think there will be a tool that will do it better than the Deere.
