Subject: john deere db60 what is this connector do?

ok hooking a db60 to a different tractor,
got most of the cables in place like dealer said.
got the planter to move out of the shed but it won't show up on the screen when I turn on the brownbox,
raising and lowering works so hydraulics work.
I think i'm missing a hookup which is this 3 way pin connector.
What does it do and how do I hook it up?

thanks!

p.s.
1. is the deutz connector
2. is my 3 section control connector
3. planter control cable (for raising and lowering markers etc)

I believe that is called a constant power connection. Only place I've ever seen it used is with JD rate controllers. I also believe it has something to do with the foot switch.

would it be the reason why the planter is not showing up on the gps screen?

We have a seedstar 1. We run the brownbox for planter functions but the rate controller shows up on the 2600/2630 for section control. As mentioned the gray plug is for the on/off pedal for the rate controller. Not sure if the brownbox has the technology to run a rate controller.

Also you have to have power at the center pin of your 7 pin plug to power the fold box, etc.

A rate controller CAN NOT be ran by a brown box. They are only compatible with 2600/2630

Your planter must have a rate controller on it. Either the rate controller actually runs the planter, or was used for some sort of fertilizer or spray system on the planter.

Not knowing what tractor you have or knowing what year the planter is part of the problem with all the guessing. I'm going with none JD tractor (looking at the first picture) so I'm also guessing field installed Greenstar harness . Now to the planter. Looks like its a new enough planter to be Seedstar 2 witch will not work with a Brown Box.

i've ran the setup before with the brownbox, only difference was that tractor had the food switch in the tractor.
tractor burned down so ya can't really look at it anymore.
i'll take the 2630 out of our sprayer and see if I can get it going.

but if this 3 pin gives a constant power to the planter that's maybe why its not showing up
I have voltage on my 7 pin because the planter hydraulics work.

The pedal will only effect the on/off of the rate controller. You can find the rate controller in the menu tab when you have your 2600/2630 if there is a rate controller on the planter and it is communicating with the 2600/2630. If you push the tab for the rate controller it will tell you if the master switch is in the on or off position even without the pedal plugged in.

The rate controller pedal (tractor side) needs power in the cab to function
