Title says it all. What is the best jack setup for changing sprayer tires on a self propelled machine? If you have a picture of your setup would be awesome. Also any contact info of where to order and approximate price. thanks

If you have tridekon crop dividers there's a jack made for these. It goes right on where crop dividers attach. Tridekon sells them or if you are little handy can make one with a cherry picker jack. They work great and you don't have to lock suspension up.

I used a large block of concrete, 2'x2'x6' for the base

6 x 6 block of wood and a hydraulic bottle jack on that

helps to have a large loader, to place the block, by the shop for an hour !!!!!!!!!!!1

Emersonjacks.com Around $1200 with different sections for different heights. We use ours for the sprayer but it gets a lot of use on other things too. Very handy on semi's and trailers.

Chebanse, IL.....

We had a JD 4830 sprayer, and now a JD 4038 sprayer (sometimes confusing numbers!). We bought a "Greg Smith Equipment Sales" (Indianapolis, IN) jack stand & it has worked well for us. No problems. Realize it is a jack stand, not a jack. When removing wheels from the JD sprayer, you release air from the suspension while you have 1 jackstand under that axle...not the wheel motor, but the axle on the frame. A typical size shop hydraulic jack is then used to lift the wheel off the ground using JD supplied wheel jacking bracket (all air is gone from suspension now) & remove wheel. This is how JD recommends it being done in their OM. So, you use one tall jack stand to lower the axle onto, and one standard jack to raise the wheel assy off the ground. JD also sells a jackstand thru their parts for this, but I believe it's nearly $1000. The Greg Smith stand we bought has a 12,000# capacity and is adjustable via 2 methods. First, there's the obvious pin height adjustment, then the top portion also has a threaded sleeve you can spin with those handles. It's a fine thread (not Acme) that will raise the pad for more precise adjustment.

Ours works fine. I'd buy another if we needed it for some reason. The caster wheels have springs & compress easily, but will extend again with no weight on them to allow easy movement of the stand assy. Looks like Greg Smith gets $379 plus shipping. I'm sure it's a "common carrier" item. They seem well built to me. Welding on them looks very substantial. Here's link to Greg Smith Equipment:

http://www.gregsmithequipment.com/12-Ton-Vehicle-Support-Stand

Here's photos of our stand. It's under our 4830 in the photo. I did take one of the Smith supplied pads & modified it to fit under the JD axle. You can see that in my last photo.

This is what I put together to install a lift kit on a 3340. This will also work great for changing between the floater and regular tires on the 3320 3330 and 3340 we run. 3.5 x 40 lift cylinders. 3.5 and 4 inch square tube.

Google Emerson Jacks. Once you have one, you'll use it a lot in the shop, too.

Cheap: we roll the welding table underneath the sprayer and use a bottle jack.

Edit: plus another bottle jack under the wheel motor bracket

I don't know about other brands but on a Deere there is a bracket bolted to the side of the machine for changing the tire safely with any small bottle jack. All the other jacks would be nice but really aren't needed.

When i tried putting all the front axle weight on that bracket, the steering cylinder bypassed oil and turned the axle faster than i could change tires. 900hr 4730
