| Tell me about these tractors. Pros? Cons? Dependability? Weak points? Things to look at?
What model of Case IH is comparable?
Also what do you think if the 4 range 4 power shift tranny? |

| Would be close to a Maxxum 140, I think |

SE SD | I thought the elite was full power shift? Maybe I'm wrong. The fella I bought my McCormick from told me they have a new New Holland and that thing is in the shop more than any of his older tractors. He told me that's why they bought a another McCormick. They had very few problems with them. |

| I had one for 18 months, had the 4 range 4 shift tranny. Bought it March, 2013, it was a 2012 model, a county lease return with 200 hours, came with full 2 year warranty. This past August we noticed it didn't shift quite right, dealer finally determined tranny failure. What happened was a snap ring came loose and slid over against a bearing. The bearing locked up and spun in the housing, the filings finally ruined the clutch packs. NH warrantied the tranny, but wouldn't give me a new one or a factory rebuilt. Tractor was tore apart in a million pieces and dealer was trying to figure out how the pieces were supposed to go back into the new tranny case. To get to the point, I really had planned to trade up to something bigger anyway in a year and half anyway, dealer had a 2013 T7.200 sitting on the lot, gave me a good deal and I traded. The thing about the 6070 is they are a little bit small. I always handled 2 bales at a time, but it was a load. I like the T7 much better and it's a full power shift. As to the Elite and Deluxe, they sorta changed the designations on them and intermingled them, so I don't think you can compare older models to newer ones with the same features. And, are you REALLY going to buy one? I mean really? How many different tractors have you looked at? Come on :) |

| Thanks Sheep Herder...
I'm at a crossroads and really don't know what to do. I want a FWA on the farm before spring and mud and calving. Of course I said that last year as well, but I've been shopping and after today am probably more frustrated than ever.
If like to find a 10 series Deere, but they're either sold before I get a chance to inspect them and most of them have high hours or something wrong and still want a lot if money. And with cattle prices where they're at dealers aren't willing to deal. Had to drop everything to look at one today, thought it was exactly what I wanted, supposedly low houred machine BUT u think the tach was turned over, there were a few things wrong with it and the tires were down to bare bones. So there I was deciding on a supposedly good tractor that needed another 7k stuck into it in tires and few other things, but could deal because I was first in call and had dibs on it, but only listed for a day and had 4 other guys requesting to view. Wasn't even on lot yet.
But did come across a 6070 with 4000 hrs but in immaculate condition and I really liked it. Much better than the T7030 I looked at a couple of weeks ago, I hated the control layout, the powershift, and it had some electrical issues. None if that on the 6070 and in better shape, except I don't like where the throttle was placed. But I do like the power quad or whatever you call it in the T6070, gives me speed selections especially in reverse for a snow blower.
Like the McCormicks but new are still too spendy, and the not used one I found has shavings in hydro fluid. Found another nice one, but not available til June.
The clock is ticking. |

| Really, the best price on loader tractors now are the NH lease returns. And it should be getting better because local dealer still has several from 2013 and got 4 more this year. Gotta sell or pay for them, and I'm sure there are lots of NH dealers out there in the same shape. Usually only have a couple hundred hours on with brand new loader. I know they don't do it in all states, but it's popular up here. |

| Who and where is your local dealer? I haven't seen a NH state or county tractor for years here, all Case IH or JD?
In fact was thinking of calling local dealer, got a 6105R government return with low hours and extended warranty. Like new condition, just a little smaller than I'd like but something I at least have to consider. |

| Greg, we have both a 6070 and a 6050-like the 6070 better with the extra hp. and the electronic govoneer. No issues with it but we don't use the loader much -it is backup to our payloader. We only have about 1500 hours on it-we put it on our feed wagon in the winter because of the FWA. Like the automatic diff lock and other features-dislike location of hydraulic levers when on feedwagon . Have a good dealer in area-was cheaper to buy new with Poet ethanol incentives than used! |
