| Saw a nice Ford A66 loader for sale,1980 model. Are they worth $10000? Where would one get parts and are they still available? Thanks for any feedback |

| How many hours? Have you shopped for wheel loaders much? They are not bad for an older wheel loader. Engine is ag, xtrans is commercial off the shelf as well.as.some of the other driveline. Parts are for the most part available. Brakes are typically a problem but can be repaired. It's a black sheep in the wheel loader market, if you are going to buy it and keep it your good. If you think you will want to flip it at some point then dont. I have one and like it.... it's simple and works. But paid scrap price for it.
Can't buy much in the wheel loader market for 10k. If you feel that you will graduate to a newer loader over time check out some of the mainline names in order to maintain some value. |

| Never owned a wheel loader before.I don't know how many hours are on it. Loader looks clean, neat and cared for. Want something more HD than agloader for a 12' snow pusher ,clean up scrub piles, piling gravel, etc. what should I check for when test driving? |

| Most older payloader all have one thing to check is there torque converter . no mater how clean and cared for the torque can still be houred out.if the guy lets you take it out and work for a hour . it wont even take that long for it to show if slips wonce it warms up . a A66 can tip in rough conditions . JDand cat are the best for farm use but thats just my thoughts |

Grandfield, Ok. | Brakes are internal and work good until they fail (keep water out). Stout as an ox. Had one sold it an looking at another one. It has a flow combining valve that is a little odd. If it works correctly and pins and bushings are tight you will not be disappointed. That size machine new is about 175m I think as have not priced one lately. Size of a 644C Jd. |

Lincoln County. NC | As a NH parts guy, I'll say that if parts are available, many must come from the original component suppliers and not the NH parts system, or are commonly available Ford engine parts. A lot of stuff I have looked for lately is NLA from NH. Not that there are many of these machines left around "here". |

Ks | We recently upgraded from an A-62 loader to a 924f Cat. The 924 is 20 years newer so it is nicer to oporate but it does not have the reach to center of my lime truck as the Ford did. I have a fond spot for the A-62. It has paid the bills for the last 15 years without a whimper. One other thing I liked on the ford is the tilt cylinder length. You can roll the bucket face flat on the ground, almost 180deg movement. Every modern loader I have seen will not dump over 80deg down. |

East Prairie, MO | There was just one on eBay with no doors or back glass, talked to the guy and he sounded like he wanted more than 10, auction brought about 6,700. Reserve not met, I felt like that was about right for it actually... |
