Huntington, IN | We are getting ready to add a Precision 20/20 and Fieldview to our planter. This system is going in a 4450 so cab space is limited. The tractor already has a CFX-750 and Ez-Pilot for the steering so there is already plenty of wire to deal with. I would like to know what others have done with these monitors to minimize the space they take up and make the wires as clean as possible. My thought is to put a RAM mount on the corner post above the shifter and mount the Precision Planting equipment there so the line of sight is good to see the screen but it is also not taking up a bunch of window space. Has anyone done this with success? I know the post is pretty thick stuff so drilling and tapping might be an issue. I would love to see what others have done.

Between Omaha and Des Moines, 7 miles South of I80 | Here's a thread with some photos: http://talk.newagtalk.com/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=370178&DisplayType=flat Here's a link to Shoup cab monitor bars: http://www.shoupparts.com/product/search.aspx?st=monitor organizer
I think someone has said, that there are electrical wires, in that cab post, that you want to drill into, so be forewarned. I do remember where someone, on NAT; used a strong shallow C-clamp, and welded a piece of metal to it to hold the monitor = then C-clamp was placed tightly on the cab post(no drilling and was adjustable, up and down; depending on where you put the C-clamp)

Coles County, Illinois | Not really an answer but http://www.gpscity.com/mounts is about the most complete source of Ram mounts I've seen. They're honest as well as I've had them ship the wrong thread size and they handled the mistake professionally without further cost to me. (Shipped the correct part with a prepaid shipper.) Their video's are excellent to get new ideas on mounting.

Someone on NAT once posted about mounting a round pipe between the right hand window levers and using that as a mounting bracket. Works pretty good the only problem is the monitors won't be in the line of sight. I made mine by welding a nut to the inside of a piece of pipe, and bolting to the window levers. East Central Arkansas | I don't know about the 50 series but the 60 series have two tapped bolt holes to the front of the cab post. If you have these you can just build a bracket to where you want to mount stuff. The bracket does need to be out of stiffer stuff than you might think to keep stuff from shaking.

I don't have any pictures, but I put one of these K&M brackets in my planter tractor last year, and just ordered one for my sprayer tractor this week. I use some RAM mounts for a couple of items, others are mounted direct. https://www.tractorseats.com/p-111505-jd-sound-guard-monitor-bracket... Edited by Charlie SEMN 1/16/2015 20:22

WC Franklin Co., In. | Charlie SEMN - 1/16/2015 20:20 I put one of these K&M brackets in my planter tractor last year, and just ordered one for my sprayer tractor this week. I've got the same mount in a 4250 that I bought through my local JD dealer. I think it was around $125. Very nice mount.
