| Did CaseIH buy another company in which it now markets their air drill and cart painted CaseIH red? I was thinking Concord or Flexicoil. Reason being, our local ag supplier bought a 40 ft air drill with cart and a used STX Steiger 325 to pull it with. I was told the drill is a lot heavier than the Deere equivalent which many other local suppliers use. |

WC MN | CaseIh purchased Concord back in the late eighty's-early ninetys, they were origionally green back in the day (pops had one for putting fert in Ridges)............. FNH (fiat?) bought CaseIH, Flexcoil was in with FNH............ The company FNH CaseIH (Fiat?) dumped the concord for the flexcoil cart system, and now Concord is Fargo Aire. I think the origional guys (Concord builders) bought it back from FNH Case Ih (Fiat?) Sorry I don't have a clue about the seeding part, just the tank. Can't speak for the seeder, but the fert/seed cart is/was a trouble free unit for the time it was in use here. Good Luck |

| caseih took over concord and new holland took over flexicoil now there under cnh. dropped the concord tanks and not sure about the concord drills |

| We have a Case IH air drill that we have used for two falls and two springs that was a rental unit the year before we bought it. It says Case IH on the air cart which has Flexicoil metering system and the seeding tool is red and says Concord on it. So there was a period of time when it was a mix and match outfit.
One Case IH dealership sells Case IH, Flexcoil, and Ford New Holland and said they could get the drill in red, grey, or blue. |

| This year there was a CIH (red) airseeder on display that was an updated version of the Flexicoil 7500 series paired with the Concord walking-beam tire packer assembly.
Flexicoil had the 5500 (updated 5000) on display.
A company from Dakota territory was selling a Concord type unit.
Didn't notice what NH was displaying.
And of course, the other flexicoil knock-off was on display at the JD booth. |

the Case air drill is the flexicoil tank and concord drill. the New Holland air drill is the flexicoil tank and flexicoil drill. prior to the big merger with NH, Flexicoil, Case, elvis pressley etc... the case drill was the concord drill tank and all. and way back I believe case had some version of their own.
I still believe the flexicoil is the best but just my opinion....with flexicoil I don't have to deal with a million rubber tires...an air tank nightmare... |

| The Concord cart is still being built by Fargo Air. I think you can get them through Amity Tech......though don't quote me on it |

| All CNH air carts since 2001-2002 are a Flexi-Coil-whether they are painted red, blue, or gray. Look at most of the cast parts on any of these carts and you will see "Flexi-Coil" cast into them. Other than paint, the carts are pretty much all the same.
Now, as far as tillage is concerned, if you are talking about a 40' single-disc drill, you are talking about an SDX40. It traces its origins back to CaseIH/Concord which introduced the SDX30 back in 1998-99. The SDX40 was introduced in 2003 as a larger model.
If its a shank drill, it will be an ATX drill, which is largely based on the old Concord/CaseIH design before the CNH marriage. It will have tires for packer wheels. This drill was dropped recently from CaseIH in favor of the newly-released shank drill which is based on the Flexi-Coil "slim-fold" design from 4-5 years ago.
Flexi-Coil and New Holland still offer a shank drill that is more or less based on the Flexi-Coil 5000 series drills that have been around for many years. |

There is an option of having foam filled packer wheels from the factory. We haven't touched a packer tire in the two years we have owned it but the John Deere we ran one spring with the pneumatic tires and no foam did have some leakers.
