southern ontario canada | Was wondering if anyone had corn to pick yet after the late November wind storm in southwest Ontario or anywhere else , and how the head worked for you if your corn was down bad . I have a 4206 , was finished day before the storm ,but would like to know if these heads do a decent job in severely down corn .Thanks |

WCIN | We had a couple of fields that had a couple of spots of down corn, but thankfully not very much. Have a 4412, and I might have shot myself this fall if we had very much down corn. So in simple words, what little down corn I was in, our head wasn't worth a crap. |

Casey Illinois | A few isolated spots of down corn but did not have any problems with our 4208. Only had one issue and it was taken care of within an hour, very satisfied with the head, think finally they got it right

E.C. MI | I had over 100 acres of down corn bad enough I couldn't see the rows and was more than satisfied with the way my 4408 handled it. There's no way my old 3408 could have picked those fields. Overall I am quite happy with the 4400... It sends a lot less trash in the machine and feeding is much improved... Especially in damp stalks... 3400 was terrible in those conditions. |

Ohio | What twinrowboy said! A finished 90 acres that the 70 mph winds knocked down some, much much better than the 3408 I use to have. I also have the roll a cones on the ends and never plugged up or hung over the ends. Worked great!
Can't beat a 1000 series for down corn. |

Central IL | I would say you have something going on. My 4408 was the best head for down corn I've ever seen. That is the general consensus here on NAT too. Just wondering if you had your feeder face plat too steep or something. |

Southwest Ontario | Have been using our 4412f for last 1000 acres and so far has been a nightmare. This head plugs in down corn and standing corn. the corn doesnt even get to the knife rolls before it plugs. The snouts with the height sensors get broken up on the bottom side from the heavy steel sensor banging it , And when they hit a rock the sensors rip right out of the plastic snout. The trash builds up and pushes on the drivers side shield from the wind rowed stubble and then ruins the slip clutch. The chains get out of time , and already breaking. In a little over a week there hasn't been one good day with this head. I don't understsand how caseih can even put their name on this header in this most obviously untested condition. It folds up nice to put into storage which is where it should never have come out of until it was finished and tested in the field. What a lemon. We shouldn't have to spend hundreds of thousands of our dollars to be caseih Guinee pigs, when you spend this kind of money you expect a product to work. What's the use of having a big fancy combine whe the limiting factor of its production is the POS header on the front of it . A lot more time and money better go into the R&D of a good completed and working header , corn ,wheat and beans before they release another one for the sake of all the unfortunate ones who have got the shaft on this one. |
