NE OHIO | The PTO clutch is starting to slip on the gas IH 656. Did a complete engine overhaul this fall now this happened. This is a chore tractor not a field tractor but would like to be able to use in on an auger or the grinder mixer. How is this changed or is their an adjustment? Thanks! |

Hoffman, IL | PTO is a hyd drive with its own pump mounted on it. Drain the rear end oil and it comes out the back with four bolts. Then can have it rebuilt.

Hendricks MN | There is an adjustment on the rod going into the unit. But if it is slipping already the discs are probably burnt and should be replaced. |

North Central OH | If you have a good hill to park it on can pull without draining oil. Be sure to put a gauge on it after rebuild to check hydraulic engage pressure, think mechanic told us 65psi when we did our 686, not sure anymore though. |
