Going to buy a new manure spreader...witch would you buy?...dealer sells both & they are priced similarly. Or a kuhn knight 1140...it's also priced similar. Edited by Lime pad 11/25/2014 15:07

Badger State | One of those is an American company. The other two are not. That's how I'd pick.

MN | Manure spreaders have been a popular topic lately! Must be good money in livestock tha wasn't all spent on corties! Anyways, personally I'd go with the H&S. Dad had one a 370 for 25+ years, thing never saw the inside of a shed. Many years of everyday use hauling dairy manure. Last year we finally upgraded, we went with a Meyers M435, have been really happy with it. But I can't say anything bad about H&S. They look like great spreaders too. Have no experience with New Holland or Kuhn, but I'll tell ya there are a bunch of die hard New Holland fans, so they must do something right.

arthur , ontario | the weakest thing on the 195 is the tandem axle mount? have repaired too many for my liking? unless they finally changed the design? I would stay away from them?

Ontario's Middle East | lilmule - 11/25/2014 19:02 the weakest thing on the 195 is the tandem axle mount? have repaired too many for my liking? unless they finally changed the design? I would stay away from them? The Weakest thing on a 195 is the whole drive train. They built a spreader for a 100 hp tractor and then put a 40 hp drive on it. we've reinforced / rewelded every bearing hanger on ours. The walking beams and axle mounts must be cleaned off regularly to keep them from rusting out. Other than that if you get one with a hydraulic apron drive they leave a great spread pattern and are a good machine.

Beresford, SD | IMO stay away from the new hollands...built cheap. Never been around H&S. Run two 1140 Kuhn nights.....Load until it running off all four corners. Under carriage and driveline is extremely well built. Just need to adjust apron speed accordingly....There is a shear bolt on the front right hand side that will tell you if the apron is running to fast!! Columbia City, Indiana | I like my H&S 370. It's nice being able to call up there with a question and talk to someone I can understand easily.
