Subject: dpf regen in skidsteers

We are making the plunge in our barn scraping skidsteers. We have been buying low hour pre emissions loaders up to now but getting tired of fixing them and no warrantys. We got one the other day sr160 case and at 5 hrs it wanted to regen. They say this is normal but if it insists on regen in the middle of a shift its a big pia. Anyone else dealing with this or is it no big deal? I would like to go into epa with a baseball bat swining. Cant immagine how much this s@#t adds to the price.
I've got a 2008 6.4 powerstroke with all that ripped out and tuned get 23mpg and crazy power with it when are they going to have it for this other stuff? Delete kits for offroad stuff now that's the ticket.

Our new e deere will regen without shutting you down. It'll just do it when it can. As long as you run for more then 5 minutes at a time. Ours is a 333e deere. Bout 400 hrs and going strong picked it up in January

Ben, its a pita, will it happen in ag sector??? Million dollar question, EPA has came down on delete kits for trucks, time will tell, biggest issue is it worth while for company's to test and develop its gonna be interesting with Steinbauer and Eco-tuning modules. I have installed Steinbauer modules, I won't install under warrant, Nater's have asked me, will give them install instructions, off warranty, I tell customer 20 percent power, if something happens its your nickel, I don't bs anyone, turned wrenches for 35 years seen a lot of good and bad things happen, Scott.

DPF regen in a poultry building with 4" of powder dry sawdust on the floor scares the crap out of me. We had been trading annualy the last few years, but kept our tier 3's this year and when hopefully run the quite a while.

I think We could handle the def, but cleanliness is an issue when the guys fill it. With our field tractors, we have a tank in the shop and can run several days on each tractor before filling. I talked to a New Holland rep and the progress show when I was looking at their skid loaders. I asked about def usage, and he thought it would equal to fuel usage on the t4 final motors. I sure hope he was wrong.

Our D series Cat doesn't regen very often. Exhaust is right behind cab and angled so it won't light anything on fire.

When it wants to regen it flashes and you turn the rpm up into the green area and keep working. You can also just park it and it will automatically do it.

If you ignore it eventually it will force you to do a parked regen but that is only if you ignore it. As long as you bump the RPMs up when it first asks things stay cleaned.

Don't idle them at all and work the snot out of them if you can. I don't care for having to deal with it but zi really like the new series machines and their advancements.

Green space on throttle dial is for regen

DPF is between engine and cab. 3-5k hr service life

I have 2014 Kubota 90-2. It regens while you use it. Don't really notice it while it is going on. There is also a switch to delay the regen it if you are in a tite area inside a barn or such.

No issues so far. But yes, EPA needs to be reigned in big time.

Southern Wisco
Bought a new deere in the middle of september and had the first regen at 150 hours today. Only difference I saw was the fan was revved way high, sounded like an airpalne, but I could still use it.
