In the market for a new John Deere loader tractor Kind of leading toward a 6125R,but never have ran a IVT transmission, how are they on a loader tractor verses a 24 speed auto quad and any thoughts on the tractor.

I like the IVT in my loader tractor. A little learning curve, but what isn't.

IVTs and CVT s can be very very nice on a loader depending on how they operate. Iv only used the Fendt and Agco versions. Only ran one deere and didn't get enough time to play. I would assume they have some similar features that make loader operation nicer than a powershift. A pedal mode with auto throttle is ehat really makes loader operation nice, especially if it has something similar to dynamic braking (let off throttle and it acts as brake)

The only downside to the IVT is the electronic loader control. When your doing precision loader work, it just doesn't feather quite like the mechanical loader control, even with the flow controls turned way down. So for setting a motor and rehanging a feederhouse we use the 6410(16speed) or 6420 (24speed), but for hauling hay and loading trucks I like the 6430 (IVT)

If you are thinking about putting a snowblower behind it, IVT hands down!

Wow, I don't have a mechanical loader to compare it to, but never had trouble feathering my 12 foot snow pusher, pallet forks or the bucket?

I get what your saying tommy, there is no "feel" to it like a manual type system where you can feel the pressure on the spool valves, in a electrical fly by wire type set up, it's not so much you can't feather it, just you don't get the feel of what you are doing threw the controls.

I have a 24 speed auto power quad in my 7130 loader & sprayer tractor which is nice but I still don't like it as good as my PS in my 8300 & 8120. I've never driven a IVT but the way everybody raves over them they sound pretty nice. When I was looking for a different loader tractor I never came across a used tractor with the IVT in it but did find my super clean 7130 hence is why I ended up with this tractor. I've never bought a new tractor so have never ad the pleasure of picking and choosing exactly what options I want on it. Just out of curiosity how much more $ is a IVT over the 24 speed auto power quad? Good luck with your decision.
