Subject: John Deere 4630 Hydraulic flow rate?

Looking at buying a JD 4630 and was curious what the hydraulic flow at the rear remotes are I cant seem to find any info on the web Thanks!

Also any thing I need to know about the tractor in general (good or bad) I plan on using it for round baling, hauling manure, shredding bales with processor, etc basically a feedlot tractor

I like mine its a good tractor for being 40 yrs old. It will be a little slow opening the gate on the baler but it will do what you want.

love my 4630 but can be a little hard on fuel even when you are not working it. Hydraulics are on top of their game for the time and they are still a tight turning and maneuverable tractor for their size and HP range. Mine is a lil doggy when letting out on the clutch in a higher gear (or under 1500 rpm) but i have read some forums on putting a 55 series "aneroid" or even adjusting the screw. Mine is a 1977 and has all the latest updates of the 30 series. It is a great tractor for the price although i do wish it had a 540 pto. lights arent the greatest either but i have not installed the halogens or any other additional lights yet but its in the plans. one of the best things you can do is buy the steps into the cab with the little rail, especially if your in and out of it very much. money well spent and i think they look good on it as well! good luck! any questions just ask!

A good pump shop can tighten up the gov. regulation on that pump & help the low-end torque. One of the things 4630 was famous for, falling on its face below 1500...

In less then 15 minutes you can make a new tractor by adjusting the aneroid on that tractor...it will have tons or low end.

I have a 4430 at 150hp and adjusted the aneroid until it would smoke a bit at low rpm.

You can let the clutch out with 25 ton behind it on the road in D1 at an idle and it just takes off without issue.

I have no idea why deere made them so weak at the bottom...it gave deere a poor rep for low end torque.
