| I was wondering if anyone has any experience with one of these Massey 5613 tractors? I stopped by the dealer and I saw one on his lot and it was a sweet looking tractor! Sat inside and it looked well laid out and very well put together! Fit and finish looked really good as well! the thing that really impressed me was the visibility from the seat! The unit is rated at 125 hp and the tractor seems really small from the cab for that horsepower. For me that's a good thing for its intended use. Looks like it would make a great loader tractor as well. I am comparing this Massey Ferguson 5613 to the John Deere 5115m and the JD 6125M for an upcoming purchase. I have always purchased JD equipment in the past and have had great experiences with them! From sales to service to Re-Sale value of the tractors. The John Deere's don't have the visibility of 5613 and just seem a lot bigger! specs aren't that off from one another on the weight of the tractors either. I am just looking for some advice on the MF 5613 and the experiences people have had with them so far..... issues with them? Reliability? Fuel economy? Options that are a must? Dyna-4 Tranny any good? I am not worried about the dealer support as the dealer that has the unit is 5 min. away and has a great reputation. Not sure about the re-sale value of the Massey either? For me it comes down to what makes sense in the long term. The john Deere's should be easy to sell down the road just not sure on the reputation of Massey Ferguson...Thanks In Advance for any help! |

The Internet | Try them all and then decide which one will work best for you. The whole resale thing is a load of crap, are you buying it to use or to sell on at some as yet undetermined point in the future? The problem with Massey's here is that the smaller models are eye wateringly expensive. |

Have you start harvest?
Were are you located in Scottland?

New Brunswick, Canada | The dyna 4 tranny has a really good reputation as being efficient and problem free. The MF's did have trouble with bottom and top of clutch switches but like 5 revised parts numbers on they seem to have it sorted. I think closed centre hyd is only optional on those machines so think about it if you have planters etc set up for closed centre. The open centre ones have a option for twinflow pumps - look for a blue switch on the console, they really rip doing loader work with that engaged, sends all flow from both pumps to the loader.
I've got the older small model the 5455 with a perkins, that newer one I think is a sisu diesel that has a pretty good reputation. Also careful about pto options, often base models have interchangable shafts and not shiftable pto's. Optional shiftable 540/1000 and eco. You can add it later but its a bit of work. |

The Internet | SE England. We are mid harvest but it keeps raining, it's still early though. We have a week on wheat, 2 days on peas and 3 days on linseed then all of the potatoes |

How is your new Claas 660? |

The Internet | The Claas is going well as far as I know. Some of the wheat doesn't want to thresh very well, but that is more down to the year than the machine. When we get going again it will probably be better. |

| Thanks for the info on the 5613! They are expensive to say the least! But what isnt..Just worried that no one on this forum has had any first hand experience with the MF 5613. I bet there will be alot of info and experience available about the 2-JD's. Thanks! |
