NE SD | We are looking to upgrade our chisel plow. What brand is the best? It can be an off brand too. I have heard good and bad things about some of them. I am not sure how big to look at either. It would be pulled by 340 probably or 245 magnums. Thanks |

Eastern Iowa | Landoll

|
SE ND | I would have to say summers mfg. Built heavy, will handle rocks, option of making it a disk/coulter chisel |
|
| |
|
Nunn CO | Flexicoil hands down for big dry land tough plows. New Hollend picked them up a few years ago, still good but not great. |

SE MT | Summers concur |

east central ND | Describe what you are calling a chisel plow. Up hear they have no disc on them unless it is a disc chisel. |

Mid-Michigan | I'm not sure what you call a chisel plow. We have a sunflower 4511 which is a disc/chisel/disc. Its a great tool goes about 12-14 inches in the round and does a great job on corn stalks which is its primary job on our farm. |

ND | A chisel plow--no disc of any type on the unit. A Landoll in certain places of country would maybe be great but have as much resale as a Massey Ferguson chisel plow. Past great chisel plows-1610, 610,680,2400-JD's & now Summers. |

NE SD | Remember John, these I-state farmers like to call a ripper a chisel plow. |

After reading many posts on here on this subject I have come to understand the term "chisel plow" means something different depending on where you live. |

|
NE SD | We had an old IH 55 high clear chisel plow. Not a ripper or disc chisel |
|
| |
|
central alberta | We have a newer Flexicoil ST820 chisel plow and it works great, can really go through the trash. I came with beavertail spikes which creates a little more black dirt showing which we like, but you can put any type of chisel on it. |

That's why I didn't put a model number in my post.
