Blue Grass (Eastern IA)

Putting a new radio in the 4955.  It has the bezel for a radio with 2 knobs, and a speaker attatched.  I will be getting a DIN mount bezel and want to put 2 speakers up front.  It looks like there are grills already there on either side of the radio.  What size speakers fit in there, and do I need the angled mounts shown in the parts catalog?  One of them is NLA.   Deere # for the speaker is R99016.

Remsen, Iowa

I just replaced the radio and speakers in my 4955. It has the 4 speaker system ( 2 front and 2 rear). The speakers from Shoup fitted into the front angle mounts. they come with the correct ends on them. I would sure you could figure out how to mount a speaker, if you can not get the angled mounts or if they were to expensive. There is a little room to work with. You must take out the front headliner and fan switch cover to get at the thing. You do not go through the cab roof.

I put a Pioneer radio in it with a remote control to make it easy to adjust while in the field, I have them in another tractor and combine, I wound highly recommend that. Got a piece of iron (from Deere) to fit into the bezel to accept  the Pioneer radio and not have to replace the whole bezel.
