Jerseyville,IL | Was looking at a TTX 230 McCormick and am seeing them for less that CIH ,NH Massey or Deere in the same year and size units . They seem to have just about equal options . I am questioning the 6.7 engine size as opposed to a larger displacement. It would pull a 16/31 Mech Kinze planter and a 16 row sidedress for NH3. So tell me good or bad about these units , I have dealer 40 miles away so parts and service would be somewhat close by . Any thoughts welcome. JB

JB Because your neighbors will make fun of you running such an odd ball machine - with all the green and red that 'normal' farmers would run . . .... . ( ~ ' There are a couple McCormick's run around here - no problem for them. Very reliable and good tractor and the best part, they can put more dollars away in their pockets, instead of in a green or red dealers pockets.

west of DSM, Iowa | I have heard of elecrical issues with the TTX. Talk to previous owner. If you have a good dealer and don't care what it maybe worth in trade later they appear to be a good value. I have had three, currently have two but am trading out of them because McCormick seems to have fallen of the face of the earth around here. Been good tractors for me,though.

hannibal mo | Freaking love my ttx230. Got 1600 hours on the clock and it does it all on our place right now it's hooked on a 32ft Krause cultivator. Have not had any issues yet they have good power and ride nice great tranny in them too. I pulled a 3600 kinze with it before and a 15knife toolbar. When you buy the thing get a couple sets of filters as they are hard to get from anyone but your dealer Edited by Paganok Farms 4/17/2014 05:17

Do you feel the Xtra speed trans works as good as a full power-shift type trans? Do you have electro or mech. hyd valves the one I am seeing has electro? Whos the dealer up you way at Hannabail ? Thanks JB

South Western Ontario, Canada | Had MTX 125 once..... It was a complete hunk of JUNK. From brand new it spent more hours at the dealership than in our yard. It soured our thoughts on EVER even sitting in one! Only good part of that tractor was finding out how good the dealer was, they bent over and tried everything to make it run. I hope the TTX is a better built tractor and you don't have the lemon like we did.

hannibal mo | It's kinda of wonky to shift sometimes but is laidnout good as far as speeds. It will pull a 16/31 no sweat. And as for the local dealer let's say he retired to pursue farming full time.I get my stuff from precision tractor in Roseville il now. I have the cab suspension and front end as well love the ride Also in have the mechanical hyd levers which is odd considering its got the cab and front end suspension.
