South Central IN | This fall, the air leveling valve on our semi (a '95 Volvo daycab) would come unhooked between the vertical rod and the valve's arm whenever we would dump the hopper quick or get on unlevel ground. This weekend, I unhooked the trailer to check it out. As it was, the arm was about 6" behind the rod and had to cross through the air lines. I think they were part of the problem, causing the rod to unhook from the arm when it could not get enough range. I flipped over the valve so that it lines up nicely with the rod and is completely away from the air lines. However, in this configuration, it will want to dump air when the arm is up and fill when it is down - the exact opposite of what it should do. This is a Hadley valve. Do they, or someone else, make one that will work in this "flipped" setting. Basically, is there such a thing as a left hand and right hand valve so that the fill and expel function on the arm are reversed? Clear as mud? This pic is how I would like to see it mounted if possible. Thanks for the help! (image.jpg) Attachments ---------------- image.jpg (31KB - 162 downloads)

SouthCentral WI | Can you flip the valve over on the mount? Sorry, I now understand after looking at your picture. You might try to mount it like it was and making a offset bracket for the arm. Towman Edited by towman2000 12/22/2013 18:50

Should be able to just switch the exhaust and the line to the air bags.

Dearfield Co. | essentially the same valve as what pete uses on low air. This valve you have appears to be a updated one from when the truck was new. This is why I dump the air on my tractors when doing a fast dump. the valve is basically designed with a range so it can be mounted in 1 of 4 clockings once it leaves that range it will do weird things. You might be able to find a reproduction seal-tech that it replaced thru freight liner or another manufacturer. That is unless it has your dump function in it as well then you are limited in choice unless you want to wire up dumps

Wi | Hard to tell exactly what valve it is but with a lot of the common Haldex ones you simply switch the line configuration around. If you can find the part number on your valve they will have books online to show you how to for that specific valve.

South Central IN | I was thinking also that I could just switch the lines after I moved it, but one is specifically supply and the other the outlet side. Where the arm mounts to the valve, there is a "Fill" and "Expel" label stamped on the housing. That's why I was hoping that they made one with the arm on the other side for this to work. Thanks for all the replys! Don

Texas | Can you move arm to point other direction ? I see guys fight with leveling valves pretty often ,most of the time arm is backwards .

Dearfield Co. | If that arm is moved one way or another on the crossbar it might also give you the desired affect.I have had to move all of mine on pete low leaf to get them from getting pulled off.

South Central IN | Follow up to my problem... I talked to a truck shop today. The valve can be used as I wanted to if the arm is rotated around 180 degrees, unbolted, then flipped.
