Hitchcock SD | Series 40 Detroit motor. 18 speed powershift transmission. Both were very good. Pretty good tractors. We had a 9675 for awhile.

The 6124-6144 White and 9435-9455 Agco Allis use the Massey 32 speed transmission . Models 6125-6145 White , 9635-9655 Agco Allis and the larger models had the Funk poweshift. Agco Allis models used either DT466 or DT530 engines. They were called Detroit Diesel Series 40. Yes Whites used Cummins for power. Overall good tractors in either color.

Saginaw Valley | The DT466 and DT530 are Navistar/IH based engines. Neighbor has a nice 6195 with the DT530. smooth

East central Indiana | We ran a 9435 for about 6-8 years. It was our main hay and side ditch mowing tractor. I always disliked the cabs. Air conditioner was less than desirable and we blew a steel hydraulic line behind the right rear tire. Replaced it used the tractor a while. Blew it again. Next time we put it back on it instantly blew again. We fixed it and hauled it to deere and traded it off. Don't know what ever happened to it.

EC North Dakota | I have a 6195 white FWA that has the Cummins in it. Great tractor for what we use it for. Some minor issues with transmission selinoids but I expect some of that with the age of the tractors. Parts are readily available from AGCO and I have a former White dealer near me that sold and knows these tractors inside out. Have heard nothing but good about them from others.

nc IA | I just bought one locally this fall, my first mechanical front - what a step up from the 4840 I was trying to pull the ripper with. Did the last 40 acres with it and talk about night and day difference. Mine is a 6195, first year (93). From the research I've done, the 2 smaller ones 6125/6145 had the 5.9 cummins, and the larger ones like mine are 8.3 cummins 6175/6195 - I believe a year or two later they had a 6210 or 6215 that was a few more HP yet. Nebraska test had the 6195 at 218hp, but factory called them 192 for whatever reason. Transmission on mine is a funk - and from what I understand shares alot in common with the genesis tractors as they were funk as well, primary diffrence is these are a 18 speed and the ford/nh were only 16 speed. Front axle is a (sp) Zepher which was used I think by Deere in the 50 series (4650/4850). Has alot of grease points on it being a earlier generation one, but other then that I think they are well built. Cab is very roomy in comparison to my Soundgards I'm use to, visability is out of this world in comparison. I like that overall it's still a straight foward machine, with not much electronics on it. There is a board for the transmission, but I don't think there's much besides that from what I've found. The 18sp full powershift is very smooth overall - only "jump" is between 9th and 10th when is goes between ranges - and that's not too bad unless you're under load in the field. Kids like it as it had a fold out buddy seat with a seatbelt from the factory. I like that it was $30K under another Deere or CIH of the same vintage with the same hours

I was under the impression that the 6124/6144 series had small hydraulic capacities. You had to be real careful running hydraulic motors to not overheat the oil. I don't know what they did different, but the XXX5 tractors didn't have that problem.

Iowa - Floyd County | We have a 6195 MFWD and overall it's a good tractor. Only complaints I have is the electrical system, mainly the lighting system. We have real issues running the headlights and flashers for any period of time and also running the headlights with the field lights. Ours is turned up to about 250HP and weighted to the max and it pulls good.

Central MN | I know a guy who has a White 6145 now and he has been very happy with it. A friend used to have a 9655 that he got new and ran it to a little over 5000 hrs and I believe he said the only major issue they had with it was they took out the pto on it once pulling a edible bean combine. Nice driving units

That would be wrong.
The 6124 and 6144 have a 27 gpm closed center hyd system. The 6125 and 6145 have a 22 gpm closed center hyd system.
Either one will operate hyd motors fine as long as you are not trying to excede what their hyd pump is capable of.

good tractors, have been running a 93 6195 for a few years and recently acquired a 95 6175. Like JChamb i have the exact same lighting issues, especially with running lights on a baler at night(constantly trip breakers). I also seem to have to replace alternators every year or two. Only major problem i've had that had me down for a couple days was the computer took a dump on me. After looking at the differences between the tractors, the newer notched frame seems a lot more refined.
