Charles City. Iowa | I see that FPT some call Iveco engines that are in New Holland and Case IH. Starting in 2014 Deere start using FPT engines model 4.5 L models in Deere model 5G 80 and 90 horsepower also in 5GH high clearance models. Same engines we use in New Holland T5 models. Very good engines. McCormick switching from Perkins in 100 to 130 models to new 4.5L FPT engines too. Also going to uses FPT 6.7 in X7 up to 175 hp. Claas start using FPT. Engine in 340-410 horsepower tractors use Deere engine past now going to FPT engines. Last year engine FPT made 476.786 engines sold 27% are in New Holland and Case IH, 31% use in Iveco trucks and buses. Sold 3.9 billion of engines transmissions and axles FPT is very successful emissions challenge with its tier 4 final solution Hi-eSCR still using only selective catalytic reduction with out EGR like Deere. I recall lots of gloom & doom when the Iveco engines were phased in along with the Fiat drivelines and the Basildon Ford engines disappeared. These engines have proven to be at least as durable and perhaps more so. The engineers have kept up with the requirements of the world we live in and continue to provide a solid product with few exceptions.

It says 3.4l and 3.2l engines from Fiat. The 4.5L would be still be a JD. Guessing the 5G is for European markets.

Eastern North Carolina | Wonder when the RAM truck will get the FPT 6.7 under the hood rather than the 6.7 Cummins..?

Wi | retento - 12/11/2013 07:18 Wonder when the RAM truck will get the FPT 6.7 under the hood rather than the 6.7 Cummins..? Am thinking it will not be long, I think that may be why they are priced well now. Trying to get a lot of people into the new trucks so that they start liking them for the rest of the truck versus the Cummins, then when they make the switch they wont loose as many customers. Many people could care less what engine Ford or GM put in their trucks but it seems like a larger percentage flock to the Ram just for the Cummins.

Hope you were kidding-the FPT 6.7 and the Cummins 6.7 are the same engine.

Sourthern WI | Exactly. The ram already has the FPT engine since they are one in the same!

minnesota | Cummins and FPT are two completely separate companies and it is not the same engine.

Winkler, Manitoba Canada | The tie between Cummins and FPT was severed some time ago. http://www.marketwired.com/press-release/Cummins-Fiat-Group-Subsidi...

Flora IL | The cummins in ur dodge and a iveco are more alike than some know I've been told.

West Central MN | The. 6.7 was designed together I was told. The major difference is the fuel pump. Cummins uses their own, I think and FPT uses a bosch. Look at both. Same head, block, and rear gearcase.

Wheatley, Arkansas | So if I trade my 70 series Deere combines on some 8230 Case/ih combines I'll be ahead of the curve?

FYI The FPT and Cummins are both 6.7L but they differ in bore and stroke, so not the same engine as some would think.

they are same engine. to a great extent. FPT engines are great...

WCOH | I was told by a CASE-IH mechanic that they worked together on design and the two engines were pretty much identical.
