west of Omaha NE | Looking at trading in 7800jd 2wd. Would use it on a 90ft pull type sprayer, 700bu grain cart some light tillage have an 8285r for heavy tillage. Was looking at 7930 and 7200r both mfwd this past weekend. The 7200 look like they have 4 transmission IVT, power quad 16speed, auto quad 20sp, and command quad plus. What do I need I would a assume the IVT would cost the most but what about the other pros or con? of each. Or should I look for a small 8XXX tractor? do they turn short |

Iowa | Love our 7930, heard bad things about the 7rs, 8x30s are good tractors.... Garvo seems to be onto something with the 8100, especially for the money |

SW Ont | If you are set on 60 in centers for 30 in rows the 7R is terrible for turning. I have 7215R and had it set in for 60 but moved the wheels out. Much better now. Good luck. |

Columbia Basin, Ephrata, WA | I'd go with the 8130 of those three choices. I have not regretted for a minute that I bought an 8130 over a 7930, but I have regretted a few times that I didn't get an 8120 and have a tractor with less emissions gear. Deere is really screwing the pooch when it comes to their approach to emissions compliance, IMO.

SE MN | I think definitely go with the 8130. I don't know the specs, but I think it will turn as short as a 7030 or 7r, maybe shorter. The 8000 is a bigger heavier tractor that handles like a smaller one. The 8130 will have a 9.0 liter engine compared to the 6.8 liter in the 7930. If you don't want the IVT you can get the 16 speed power shift which is so much nicer to drive than the auto quad transmission and the command-arm controls are standard on the 8000, on the 7030 and (I'm maybe with the 7r too) it's only available with the IVT transmission. |

The Delta | Theyre are 2 types of thoughts here, warranty and non warranty. I hated the first 8400 I owned in 95, bugs got worked out and it was a horse. Biggest issue with an IVT 7R deere recognizes and splits the machine. |

Nova Scotia | Go 7R with command quad , transmission shift just like 8130 16 speed does , just keep pushing the one knob ahead , everything is on command arm , nice set up. we had few bugs with ours at first but have gotten them sorted out , would agree on passing on there IVT |

| Been in your shoes and we have a 7215R, 8130, 8230 etc. We have really liked the 8's and we have had good luck with our 7215, some have not ours was one deere had to split and redo the tranny bearings on it but its been great since then. One thing is the weight on these tractors your 7r and 8's will weigh in at 23-25k depending on weights and the 7930 is in the 17-18k range for us we are going the lighter route and have a 6210R and possibly a 7830 on the way. Out of all of them if I had to have one it would be the 7215R mainly for the cab layout and its just a nice tractor to run. |

Mid-Michigan | Been doing quite a bit of shopping and price checking on tractors. The Ivt tranny on a john Deere is about an $8000 option (just for what its worth to you). |
