Subject: 6210R VS 7930

Been looking at adding another tractor and want one in the 180 pto horsepower range. Wondering if any of you out there have had a 7930 and a 6210R and what was your likes and dislikes about each? Pulling and capacity wise were they about the same? Currently have a couple 8 and 7 R's and like them but needed a lighter tractor for row crop work and can't get past the stigma of it being a 6 series tractor and if it would be big enough for light tillage and a 12 row planter. Thanks.

We are supposed to have our new 6210R delivered early next week. It sure as hell better be able to handle a 12 row planter as that was our primary reason for getting it. We had previously planted with a 8245 but it was just so dang heavy. Ordered a lighter planter and the 6210. Going lean and mean. Sorry no experience with the tractor you listed for comparison. We bought a 6190 last year and like it a lot. Real versatile tractors.

I would think both of these could pull a 12 row planter. 6r is basically the same frame as a small frame 7030. 7930 is a bit of a larger frame tractor and is a bit heavier. Depends on the tillage your going to be doing with it I guess

Just got done helping a friend who went from a 7830 to a 6190r. He pulls a 12 row planter in some really steep hills. He had it hooked to a 750 bushel cart and he wouldn't put more than 500 bu of corn on it. Said it wasn't near heavy enough. Pretty proud guy, but my take away was disappointment.

We pulled our 610 bushel grain cart with the 6190 all year.No duals. Handled it fine. Flatlanders here though.

My 6190r handles a 500 bu cart fine-hardly know it is back there. Now when I hooked my 2- 6 yd dirt buckets on it...well needed more traction. .

We run a 7730 two wheel and have around 80 hours on a 6210R mfwd now, both dualled, Had the 7730 dyno ed years ago, 180 pto, not sure how that translates to engine hp, but I know we bought it assuming it was 155 pto hp. so on paper 6210 should have more power, it does not. I believe we have the eco quad, 25 mph but it does it at 1500 ish rpm, So its geared higher than 7730, and I can tell. It also doesn't seem to have as much low end torque, the power band seems to be at higher rpm. So my verdict in pulling manure tank, grossing at 80 k the 7730 pulls just as well or maybe a tad better, but I am used to running it, still learning 6210R. But it would for sure pull a 12 row no problem.

Our 6190 (2000+ hrs) handled the 1720xp stack fold just fine. The 6210r (700hrs bought in June) will handle 12500+ on the three point no problems. We love them just as much as the 7930 we have.(6000+ hrs) . The 79 is heavier but for our case the 6r will replace the 7930 and do the same jobs that it was doing.they are one hell of a comfortable tractor to drive also. If I have a choice it's either my 8225r or the 6210r with the tls.

By the Nebraska tests, a 6210R's unladen mass is 18,180 lbs. and the 7930's is 17,720 lbs. The wheelbase of a 6210R is 110.2", while a 7930 has a wheelbase of 112.5". Maximum PTO hp for the 6210R is 205.18 at 1701 rpms. For the 7930, max hp is 203.38 at 1850 rpms. In the drawbar performance at maximum horsepower category (unballasted), in gear B3 the 6210R puts out 188.62 hp at 4.31 mph. In the same gear, the 7930 puts out 177.01 hp at 4.28 mph. In gear C2 the 6210R puts out 193.18 hp at 5.54 mph. In the same gear, the 7930 puts out 183.45 hp at 5.58 mph. The 6210R is also more fuel efficient in terms of hp/hr/gal on most of the tests. A 6210R will turn tighter with the wheels set for 30" rows as well. The "6" in the model name compared to the 30 series doesn't mean anything, as Deere realigned all their tractor classes with the introduction of the new numbering scheme. Park these two tractors side by side and you will see that they are very comparable in size.
