Do you think I can get by for a couple of years with a 13' platform head? Or will I have trouble keeping the cylinder full? I'm on flat ground, no washouts... What was the first year of the Titan II? Are all Titan II's hydrostatic? What engine, is it the 466 or was that an option? I believe the machine I am looking at tomorrow is a 1988. (6620 Titan II) Any idea on bushel capacity of the hopper? Do all the Titan II's's have a throat reverser or was that optional also ? Thanks!

WCIA | Get a 20 ft platform 85 was the first year for the Titan twos I think. Hydrostatic was an option but pretty standard, I've never seen a gear 6620 but I'm not real old. 466 was also standard but there where two hp levels, the hydro had higher horsepower. 160 bushel tank was the standard. Not sure on the reverser

western new york | 160 bushel Bin. yes on reverser its on the floor right side of seat pull up on it. Mostly all hydro. Ours is a 466 runs great. I thought 88 for the Titan 2 not sure ireally. A 16 or 20 will suit you a lot better.

Coles County, Illinois | Parts book shows gear drive but I've never seen one. You'll really like a hydro though. Same thing with the reverser and variable speed. You'll eventually want a wider head but I run a 915F. For a couple years a 13 will get the job done. A standard grain tank is around 160 bu capacity. I have an extension and can hold a little over 200 bushels. I'll use that extra capacity in corn but in soybeans I avoid carrying all that weight around. The grain tank loading auger is a high wear item. Using the extra capacity really wears out the upper foot quickly and if the flighting collapses would turn a relatively inexpensive repair into a costly one.

I'd probably want a 15 or 16 ft head minimum but could run an 18 or 20. 13 might be ok for a year or so. I currently run a 915 and am looking for a 920 on my 1988 Titan II 6620 1988 was last year made for the Titan II's so that is a plus on the one you are talking about. Literature says 125 hp for the posi torq ground drive which would be the old belt drive variable speed. Hydro models are 145 hp Engine is the 466 in either case according to literature. Bu capacity of hopper is 166 but that is to the point of running over think you are pretty hard pressed to get that much into factory bin and extensions. Good luck on the one you are looking at been a very good machine for me. Here is some more info from the sales book.

East central Iowa | I've run a 213 on my SH 6620 for years. Yes bigger would be good, But when you get into 80 bu. beans or green stems it's a lot harder to plug cylinder. Have never plugged with the 213 and if I hit a weed patch or foxtail I just keep rolling. I try to run 2.8 to 3.5 mph. I pushed my 213 through 150 acres this fall with no problems. Bigger would be nice but it still works so... Dave

NW Ill | I would say get a 20 foot platform. The 220 are pretty cheap around here.I sold my old 220 a month ago for $1500.It had a good sickle, dam and even poly on it but was getting old.

![]() SW Ohio | Von is your old email still good? To OP, around here 13's are hard to find, I would not be afraid to go all the way up to a 22' which should give you more options to find one in good shape and close by. All the xx20's should have the feeder house reverser, not a lot of difference between Titan and Titan II

I'm going to give my two cents here. We had a 216 on ours and it was okay as long as it was dry but when it got wet and combine made ruts it would push mud out into the beans for enough so that you had to leave a strip out on your next through. I would get a 220 or a 920 or at least a 18'

if you can find a 7720 its a good upgrade. Had a 925 head on it and it ran and worked better than a 215 hands down. Those have to be dime a dozen, every dealer has some parked out back so private guys do too. IF you can find an air reel of any size so much the better Edited by don@nebr 11/9/2013 18:11

sw corner ia. | 6620sh models did not have the reverser which was not a bad thing, imho. 6620 was standard w/o turbo motor, but still 466c.i. '83 models all had hd rear axle which was a monster big improvement, but alas they left the weak finals till they dropped the lineup.
