Know of two combines this week that a chip shut them down. But they never go bad and won't harm anything. I just don't like the idea of them.

There is some good chips and there is bad chips. Would I put a $500 chip on a $30,000 engine no way. I may have a some used Ag Diesel Solutions chips for sell for $100 or I have to look may have put in thrash. You put a Chip on that jumps common rail by 10,000 PSI is why Deere puts seals on that plug on common rail. Pressure box chips is very hard in engines. 99.9 % of the time people on hear bad things with chips and it is a pressure box.

PS I sold Ag Diesel chips in the past not no more. Today we sell only Steibauer. The best of the best.

They have pop off valves on the common rails. You will probably hear all bad on here, but we've run them thousands of hours and no problems. If it's too high it should trip the pop off valve.

I bought a ADS box for my 8130, at that time the ADS guy said they had both kinds, one that raised the rail pressure and one that didn't. I got the one that didn't.

Ads sell a good a good product, do you want to cjance it on a 30, 000, plus engine, yes Steinbauer is expensive, because, no codes, it works, Scptt.

You are right about the relief valve. Unfortunately, after a few relief cycles the valve no longer seats correctly and a permanent leak in the system is created. This causes the pump to work even harder to build the increased pressure and shortens pump life.

I believe steinbaurer is better, but I don't think ads is bad. I can't believe that the pump could even begin to maintain pressure with the relief valve not seating. Ever see what happens to a pressure washer that has a small volume leak? No pressure.

I suppose there are always going to be guys on both sides of the fence when it comes to plug in modules or 'chips' that work by raising fuel pressure. Having sold many of these products in the past, I wouldn't venture to say that they don't work at all, I just feel there have been advancements in technology and there are much safer, more efficient & more reliable options available now. Why not make power the same way the oem does instead of fooling the computer into doing something it was never designed to do?

atleaast in the 8r's they make one that doesnt raise the pressure, its more expensive, but had good luck with them...that said, id buy a steiny over ads, worth the extra 4-500 more

in the deere 8r's they make a box that works like a steiny, and will give you alittle more power for 1500 then the 599 one, might be alittle more now, as ive had them for acouple years. in the years of only high rail pressures, id keep stock on pop-off valves for my tractors....8330 was terrible with popping them off,9650 wasnt terrible, but went through acouple over 10 years...once they pop-off acouple times, they need to be switched cause they pop-off easier each time
