I know some are asking about other GPS swaps but i haven't found anything about going to deere GPS. It is a Case 2366. Its has a yield monitor in it, with a Ag leader 1000 receiver on the cab. . I am not sure what model it is. I ll post pics of it. We are all green but the combine. I would like to use one of the 2630 screens and 3000 receiver. I know some guys are doing this already. I was wondering what i need to do to make this work and what i would need to make this work. Also if i dont or cant do it. Do I need to buy a plan with Ag leader to get signal for the ag leader 1000? I have emailed AG express Monday or Tuesday but nothing returned. Thank you. -Kyler (gps.jpg) (gps2.jpg) Attachments ---------------- gps.jpg (22KB - 361 downloads) gps2.jpg (24KB - 357 downloads)

Alden and Osage, IA | You will not be able to use the 2630 to yield monitor in the 2366

roaming | That might be the oldest Universal Display I've ever seen. Pretty sure 1.2 was the original firmware when that display was released in 99. While it MIGHT be possible to yield monitor with a Greenstar system in a Case IH combine, it won't be easy, and you'll have a hard time getting support from either Case IH or Deere. If you don't have a local dealer (either brand) who's willing to work with you on it, I wouldn't even go down that road. You could update your existing AFS display to v4.7 and the YMIU to v2.2, and have a functional system for the price of a software update. Or you could upgrade to an AFS Pro 700 and have a modern system that would be capable of yield and moisture monitoring and variety tracking, and even running autoguidance if you wanted to. Edited to change 4.5 to 4.7. Edited by torn 10/15/2013 11:31

Alden and Osage, IA | They may be steering the combine with an ATU or through the hydraulics, but they cannot yield monitor a Case combine.

roaming | or they might be using Deere GPS to make yield maps with an AgLeader or Case IH display.

Minnesota | I am using the starfire globe to give GPS to a universal display plus in a 2388. This does my yield monitering and mapping. It also gives signal to the GS2 for auto steering thru an ATU 200. I got a lot of help off this forum. Good luck!

Well Torn i heard you were the guy to talk to. I thought about just staying with the the AFS but for some reason i cant get the GPS to work and cant find the software for the computer for it. I had everything for the deere GPS. Our case support is weak to dead. The store is not even available on the parts online options. Our Deere support is good.

ok. If i was to update the the software. what would i need to use the starfire 3000 with my AFS?

roaming | for mapping, you'll have no problems. You need a serial data cable for the receiver, which you can get from your Deere dealer. And then you'll need an 87302445 adapter to hook the Deere cable to the 5-pin GPS connector on the combine. It's usually located in the fuse/relay box below the console.

roaming | I should mention that the Universal Display won't show an onscreen map, but it will map to the card so you can read the data in the house and see your maps. If you upgrade to a Pro 700, you'll have onscreen mapping as well.

so with mapping and adapters you just talked about. Is that for the newer machines or can i do it with my 2366. I got a little confused witch one we are talking about.

Minnesota | Torn helped me on 8/24/2010. Don't know how to link to it. Search for CIH Universal + w/o mapping.

roaming | that's for your 2366. in general, speaking broadly for all colors of equipment, you can use any GPS input for mapping, section control, recording boundaries, etc. It's only when it comes to guidance that you have to use a specific brand or model of receiver.

SW part of the "Cyclone" State!! | Find a used Pro 600 if you don't want to buy a new 700, buy a changeover kit from a UD or UD+ to Pro 600 or 700 and use your Deere reciever to feed it gps. Then you can have onscreen maps and use the variety tracking feature that Torn talks about. It will work in the 2366.

oh i am sorry. I probably was not clear. I just wanted yield mapping and that's it. It would be nice to have a screen in the cab to watch. I just want to see the yield as i combine and a yield map after that i can just take off the 2630 and put on Apex.

roaming | +1 there's a trade-in program for 600s -> 700s right now, so odds are good that a local CIH dealer will have or will be getting some used 600s in.

roaming | The yield map from the AFS display will be in a format that Apex cannot read. But you can download the free AFS View from www.caseihafs.com/desktop-software/software-downloads.php and read your AFS yield maps there.
