Ashland County Ohio | We have a 2955 that we are having brake problems. It is a cabless model with the low deck. The brakes were working fine one day and the next the was no pedal. I tried bleeding but there was no air and very little fluid coming out. It has a little bit of braking power at the end of the pedal stroke. Any one have any ideas as to what may be wrong with them? Thanks |

Faunsdale, AL | What happens when you hit just one brake at the time? Any difference between the two sides?
I suppose it's possible the pads have fallen apart? Probably worth the trouble to go ahead and drain the transmission and check the sump/pump suction screen for brake pad debris. Usually this is black chunks and brass fibers. |

Pilot Grove, Missouri | I have a 2940 that for the last year if it sits for a week or so, I have to bleed the brakes before using it. To bleed the brakes on these tractors you have to have someone pump the pedal and then open the bleeder, repeat until all air is gone. Not like most JD's where one person holds down the pedal and just crack the bleeder once to get the air out. Patrick |
