NW Minnesota | Guess that depends on how particular you are about you equipment and how much $ you want to spend. I had one fixed and it lasted less than a year and started leaking again. I think it cost around $700 if I remember right to have it done at the farm. Now both fronts are leaking and I haven't fixed them yet. I plan to get through this year and get them fixed this winter. As far as I know they are pretty much a cosmetic problem unless they really start leaking bad. Watch you hydraulic level and grease them regularly and fix them when you feel like spending the money.

NW Minnesota | Looks about like mine. I don't think it is of immediate concern. Like I said before, fix it when you can afford the downtime and $. I don't think it is going to blow out on you and cause any major problems. JMO though..

Frytown, Iowa | If you fix that leak... You will be putting far more money into that machine than you want. That leak will stay steady for the next 5 years and is normal for those machines.

so il | thanks for the input dj and fry. the machine is new to us, I read that if you wait too long to fix it, it gets more expensive. the machine seems to be good. a big step from a 200 a c with a 45' boom to a 220 spraycoupe with 60' boom now a 854 with 90' boom. just added ez steer on waas.

Frytown, Iowa | I was maybe a bit dramatic about the leak staying steady for the next 5 years... It may last a few more but I heard the coops don't change them till they leak a quart per day...

E.C. IA | Did a reseal on ours (one wheel motor) after it started oiling up the inside of the tire. Was about $3500 to reseal by dealer done on site, IIRC. Rogators seem to be noted for drips, but when the tire looks slimed, time to fix. JMHO.

Buddy of mine just replaced a wheel motor that failed. I think he said it was about $12k. Two days after it failed he traded it for an apache. It was the second wheel motor in 2 or 3 years for him. It failed on the road going down a pretty steep hill. I asked him if he had to clean his pants. "Nope, just my wallet." He replied. I think he was actually on the phone with the tech because he noticed it was losing pressure. I would keep a close eye on it. Brandon

SE Nebraska | I had one wheel motor and seal done this spring. It was around $1200. Found out when it was apart a piece of foreign material scratched part of the internals on the motor and had to have it machined to fix it and stop the internal leak. If it is leaking it is probably best to get them looked at. It could be just the seal or possible a bearing could be going bad or another problem. It might be cheaper in the long run.

Frytown, Iowa | wow! i think that might be the difference between getting a seal replaced vs. a whole new wheel motor.

so il | thanks again for the input, will keep an eye on it and reseal it this fall/winter.
