northeast iowa | The machine I'm looking at is two years old and looks to be in good shape. They're asking 16900 for it, seems reasonable I guess. This is a rotary rake.
Without much research I think you can double windows together or run two singles. I'm not sure on operating speeds, but it has 24 foot working with. Do these rakes handle the crop gently or do they beat the heck out of it.
Currently have a vermeer v-twin love what does, but was lookin at something different. Any information about this rake or rotary rakes in general would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Chris |

Ohio | I can't speak directly to the Krone, though I've looked at them but jsut can't let myself pull the trigger. But I have ran Miller Pro rotarys for years and would use nothing else. The rotarys make a nice fluffy windrow without bunching and wrapping even when raking hay that is pretty tough yet. |

Memphis, TN | Chris, You are correct, the SW810 is a side delivery rake that will make 2 single windrows or combine them together into a single windrow. Being a side delivery you can double back on same windrow. It is a vertical fold model. The wheels steer with the hitch making it very maneuverable.
The rotor speed usually determines how gently it handles the crop. It is usually not necessary to run it at 540.
The SW810 has been a very good model for us.
I think a rotary rake is a very effective way to improve hay quality, but my opinion is biased since we only make rotary rakes.
My email is in the profile page if you need any specific info. |

South Central PA | We ran a Krone like you are looking at this past fall and loved it. It worked great with getting our hay fluffy in a windrow compared to our NH 216 but the height and folding the arms down was a pain but minor |

Northwest iowa | As far as rotary rakes go there in none better. I have owned other colors here and the Krone is the best built.
As was mentioned earlier, that model is side delivery. Which means both rotors spin the same direction allowing you to double back at the end to put 40' in one windrow if you have a light crop. If you want to do what your Vermeer does, center delivery, you will need a different model. I have a Krone 761 center delivery that we might sell if you are interested. It covers about 24' and was used to merge two windrows together behind a 15' disc windrower. |

| have two krone rotary rakes. love them. have run together in same field with other makes of rotary rakes and observed that the krones had more bars on the rotars therefore could run them at a much slower rpm and do a very nice job of moving a conditioned swath. we have models that move two 16 ft windrows together to the middle. because of slower rpm they are very delicate on crop. however we rake at 5 am to 9am to get very little leaf loss. oldest rake has done approx 12000 acres and has worked excellent as far as rotors are concerned. no big problems. had to rebuild the axle pivot bearings once and make sure to keep them tight. excellent machinery. also have two 4x4 balers from krone. company has been very good about service on balers. cannot speak negatively on krone equipment. when reproccessing rounds into squares these balers will build a 2000 lb bale. |
