Subject: NH TL100A, good or bad?

Suver, Oregon
Hello, we have been looking for a JD 6400 to replace our old 3020. I have been unable to find one that I like for the money that I am willing to spend.

We did find a clean looking 2005 NH TL100A that would work fine, and it is priced OK.

What do we need to be aware of when considering this tractor?

Thanks,

You need MFWD or is 2wd okay? Know of a 2wd 6420 priced right.

Have the "red" version of a TL110A ( CaseIH MXU110) Been a good tractor, nice ride and cab is great. My only dis-likes is it is not easy to change oil due to the short wheel base (I do have 46's on the rear and 30's on the front) that reduces teh space even more - the drain plugs are on each side. The hyd remote levers are flimsy / cheap stamped steel, but other then that, it has been a reeat tractor

That is interesting that they are the same tractor, I didn't know that.

In that case, Garth, you've got more mail... ;)

As far as I am aware that is not the same tractor as a tl series. That is the same as the ts series which is the next size large. I have a 7635 NHL which is the predecessor of the tl100 and shares most of the same parts. My problems have been associated with the dry clutch and ac system. Over it us a handy little tractor and we use it as a yard tractor with a loader. I would not buy another one with a dry clutch. Most tl100 tractors have a wet clutch with a left hand reverser on the steering column which is a must better system.

Wouldn't hesitate a second to get the TL100A. We have run one hard as a loader/chore/hay tractor for years with zero problems. Engine is very gutsy. Frame is solid and 3-pt lift is solid. Handles 2500lb cutter like it isn't even there. We dished the wheels out and mow banks, etc. with it. Absolutely love the tractor and bought it at a fraction of the JD equivalent.

Read it too fast, you are correct the MXU is a RED TS not a TL.
