This was posted on craigslist today, thought it was pretty funny, but true.

CL > sioux falls > all for sale / wanted > farm & garden -
To the Iowa guy wanting to farm everything by Tripp and such (Tripp, Marion, Delmont ect.)
To the guy from northwest iowa who wants to farm the world by Tripp, Delmont, Marion, ect. Don't you have anything better to do than scam the insurance companies and raise the rent for all the local farmers who have worked this ground for years? Not making very many friends by doing this. Ask the last guy who tried to do this to us- he's back in Iowa now.
•Location: Tripp, Marion, Delmont ect.

Someone could put an ad like that for B Randall, then also tell him to pay his taxes he owes to the state of S.D. I can't understand why people still rent to him after he filed bankruptcy and took businesses for millions.

If B Randall is "Brian Randall" from canistota sd. He just rented some piss poor ground for 320 an acre a month ago on hwy 212 in MN.
What a joke. But there was another guy who bid once. But he ended up with it.

What's his story?

He got that minnesota ground cheap then, he paid 425 an acre for some north of sioux falls.Google his name. He was a good farmer but when he went over 10k acres he started losing $. He got in trouble with the govt trying to run farms under his dad and hired hands names so he could gt govt payments since he was over the 80k rule. He farmed about 20k acres and couldnt get stuff planted and harvested with alot of equip and I dont know he is gonna do it now since this last harvest he had a 9650 and a 8xxx tractor on a grain cart. Years ago he had 4 jd sprayers. He is an arrogant a$$ and drives fancy cars now and took alot of people for millions.

I post want ads on craigs list all the time and they just get flagged. Problem is, I guess I need to have farming the entire county in mind instead of just trying to feed my family and make room for two brothers to farm and run cows. Maybe the post's wouldn't keep getting flagged then.

Craigslist is a waste of time as a source to try and find land.

If you look up the guy from NW Iowa on ewg database it shows he has only been farming for 5 years or so. I wonder if he told his banker he paid that much on sd ground and not iowa ground. The county t yield is 101 on corn and 29 or 31 on beans. He must have some old money or married into it or inherited it. there is now way a banker would got with that rent and those t yields.

Would you be willing to give the guys name out on a public forum. If not it is OK and I will understand. The gossip around here is that he sold some patent to JD for several million dollars and has cash to burn but I really don't believe it.

How can guys like that short that kind of money on those levels and keep doing what they are doing? Where do they get the money to operate on. How can they get ins. Do some of these landowners even have a clue to what some of these guys are really doing? Sounds like he is a farm "manager" if he farms 15-20000 with one combine and grain cart. Must farm it out to the custom farmers after he gets the contract signed.

Out of curiosity. What patent did this other guy come up with that JD has now? Is it something we are seeing And using these days? If you know?

People must be nuts. If John Deere gave me several million dollars for patent ideas it would be new house, heated shop, pond, atvs, snowmobiles and trails, brand new Dodge Ram, and I would be in the house right now with a big screen tv next to a fire place watching The Chew on tv like I'm doing right now. I'm sure I could get all the volunteer farm work I wanted to after that.
