Grabill, Indiana

We have quite a few acres of pasture to plow under for customers in our township. I took these photos late this afternoon when I was finishing a nin acre hay field. The tractor is a 1967 IH 756 gas and the plow is a 4-16" IH 720. The ground is dry, but turning over nicely. We no-till our row crops, but like to plow under the fields that will be going to hay or pasture.

I hope you enjoy the photos and short video.

Jim

Where is the half scoop of lime or dirt to hold the front end down? Gotta love the old binders...even the gassers.

you were going to hold the camera, pull the TA, pull the 3 point lever and also pull the hydraulic lever and maybe throttle back while turning with two hands. Was relieved when the camera was your last concern.......

Looks like its plowing really well. Those 720's are good ones. Still have a 5/16 in the barn.

Do you plow for Amish neighbors? We visit my wife's cousin in Ft. Wayne quite often so drive close to you.

All of the plowing I am doing this fall is for Amish. Their professions have changed and many no longer have the horses to do heavy field work. The Bishops have relaxed the rules in the Ordnung to allow for outside help with the farming. We are located just north or State Road 37 and one mile West of state road 101.

Thanks for the pics. Brings back some memories. My dads 756 was one of the first tractors I got to drive. Traded for an 856 when the engine blew. Still my favorite tractor on the farm.

720 is the best plow ever made. If there is such a thing. I grew up on a gas 656 that I still own. I wish it was a diesel and a 856.
