Subject: 24 row strip till ?

How many guys are running a 24 row strip till machine? I see Orthman, Krause and Blue-Jet have a 24 row setup. Does anyone else design one? Does any one design a bar with staggered row units? Any thoughts or pictures email works in profile. Thanks

The row units on the Blu Jet are staggered, never used one as a strip till bar but as an anhydrous applicator they're a real monster. The flexibility of them really allows the unit to follow the ground and keeps your depth consistent. Overall they are just a really well designed and built bar and in my experience customer support is awesome.

I would look into implement guidance if your going that wide. We ran a remlinger 24 row years ago and had a hard time keeping the planter on the strips.(strip tiller did not pull straight)

Here's some pics of the raw "reaper" bar, this was 1 of 2 prototypes for fall 2011 no its not mine, he just rents an attached building where my seed warehouse is and its hard not to miss this when the overhead door was open...

Im strip tilling with a blue jet 24 row , using trimble rtk for guidance. tomatofarmer is right about the bar sometimes drifting a little, my planter guy sometimes has to trim a little to stay with my strips but not much.

Friend of mine Dave has the other 24 row bar up in this area, looks good but out of our budget even a 12 row. We just got a 12 row 3 point RedBall strip till bar. It was new but been sitting for 5 years, got it going today and found out it works very well but soil is still a little wet.

Ran a 24 row bluejet for 3 years. It all depends on where you are at and how many rocks you have. Last fall on 4000 acres we put in 300 shank bolts even with the spring pack on the shank and pulled it with an 875b cat and it had its hands full. Worked good just a lot of maintence.
