How do you guys keep your 2410 chisel plows together?  I am pulling a 41 foot with JD 9420 so not going very deep.  Picture shows the latest frame cracking on mainframe.  I have been doing a lots of welding.  Almost all harrow section frames have had to be welded also. Am debating on going to the Summers Chisel plow with with optional front tandem wheels, maybe that will hold together.

SOUTHERN MN
We have a JD 2410 with 27 shanks and 36 feet wide and we are pulling it with a 535 quadtrack and its a good fit. Would not go any bigger. We are putting anhydrous on with ours so we are also pulling tanks behind ours. It would be nice to know what your location is.

33 foot with JD 8360RT, anhydrous knives 6-7 mph. Pulls hard, wouldn't want anything wider.

sorry, guess i just wanted a little better idea, not sure where the 920 horse figure came from.... We pulled a 30' with a 9370- not 11" deep or anything, but it got by okay for only 365 horsepower

it stated that it took 40 horse per shank at 12 inches deep. So i took 40 horse times the 23 shanks he was asking about. I was actually trying to be funny.

Duane, currious how deep you pull your chisel? Here, it seems 3-6 in. is normal. Chiseling corn is a different annimal all together tho. To the origional poster, i pull a 47' with a NH 9880.

Hate to break it to ya but you are NOT pulling a 1610 JD Chisel plow 12" deep first off you don't have enough HP unless you are in pure blow sand and second the frame/shanks would never hold up to being in the ground that deep.

I good friend of mine once told me what happend to them they had a 24 or 26 foot 1610 chisel plow don't remember for shure exactly anyways they had a 8450 they were pulling it with, they then bought there first 8960 and figured now we can really stick this sucker in the ground, said the first year it held up pretty good, 2nd year did some welding and after the 3rd year it was ready for the scrap pile said there was so much welding and plates add to try and hold it together 1/2 of it was not even green anymore.

We pulled a 41' 610  8" deep with a 9400. It was more than the tractor wanted at times but got by. There's no way regular shanks would run that deep. 8" is about all the further they'll go and stay down where they belong here. Not sure if the tru-depth were around for the 1610s or not. 1610s are older than the 610s and I know they were offered on 610s.
