Boss has one, bought it new has 8500 plus hours. Been very abused always had a loader on it. Weak spots are the dry clutch and internal hydraulic leaks. Ours was split in 5 pieces last summer looking for and fixing hydraulic issues,. O and for new rear brakes. Lot of people don't like them but we would be lost without it. Perfect tractor for the jobs your wanting to do.

I have the 3255 MFD with about 4200 hrs.  Original clutch.  You just can not abuse it.  Others around hear go through a clutch every 1500 hrs. They did put in a new slave cylinder for the clutch under warranty.  Not sure if there was a recall only on the 3255 or maybe on yours also.  JD should know.  Remember it is in the utility class of tractor.

No complaints except the hand brake is a pain to use.  If you ever leave the brake on and burn it out they have to pull the cab or 4 post to replace the brake. Not me yet, but so I have been told.

a better tractor is a 3020 powershift--no clutch problems especially in a loader situation and if you ever operate one on a haybine you won't want to give it up--give one a try.

Our 1994 year 2755 was made in Germany and has a French built engine. That makes parts that are unique to the 2755 more expensive than std Deere parts. If it has the ZF mfwd option, caution must be taken to avoid running the front planetaries out of oil. When the seals leak, fix them right then. The cost to replace major ZF parts is more than the tractor is worth.

How would those facts differentiate it from ALL other Deere's of that sereis? All of those utilities were Manheim tractors with Saran engines... and ZF front axles. Certainly nothing is cheap about ZF parts... but their competitors are just as bad in all respects, if not worse.
The 2755 is as decent as any tractor in it's class for that time period.

You are not the first, nor will you be the last one to think I am tight, but $2200 for a small gear assembly with 2 gears seemed out of line to me.
