Oregon | The Home Depot ladder would not be so obvious if they would just paint it a body color. Or better yet, hang it in a gull wing and install a fixed ladder for engine access. The new cooling system is interesting- I wonder what it is like to service. -Mike |

Oregon | I don't think continental Europe has enough crop ground for that thing... -Mike |

SW Iowa | That ladder is a FAR cry from anything at Home Depot. Plus if it was attached to the machine, you could not take it off to use it on the sides of the machine for service or repairs. Its rather handy......until you pull the combine out of storage and have to go find that ladder as someone has used it somewhere else on the farm. |

Oregon | That is funny. We demoed one this summer. And I totally agree- it is handy. But if they just hung it out of the way under the gull wing, it would be just as handy. And if they also mounted a fixed ladder painted body color, the first question everyone asks wouldn't be "What's the Home Depot ladder for?" I like the combine- I just hate answering stupid questions from guys trying to knock the machine. The old engine airbox was a bit crude as well. It will be interesting to see how intake air is managed on the new combine. -Mike
edit: Looks like the walker model just added the Deere air scoop and kept the same engine intake airbox.

Ontario Canada | Would be nice if the NA models were Claascolours, and not Cat Colours. Leave the ladder alone. If you don't like it, don't buy it!! |
| |
Liberty, MO | Also the head trailer looks different than any I've ever seen, is it adjustable in length. Noticed the top bar where the front of head is in 2 or more pieces? |
| |
South-central Nebraska | Other combines should incorporate the same idea if anything. |
| |
Athens, Ga | always thought class colors looked good. i like the looks of class choppers. |
| |
Athens, Ga | what are the two sensors on the end of the head, sticking up on a tube? |
| |
Southern MN | That is a lazer guidance system for solid seeded crops.
| |
| Those sensors are for the laser pilot. The will read the edge of the crop and steer the machine. |

Near-north Ontario, French River | In the second picture, there is a tractor at the far right, looks like it has a front mount mower and something on the 3pt........ any idea what it's up to or is it just in the pic for kicks? |
| |
Peace River, AB, Canada | These are indeed a front and one rear mower, they also make double rear mowers and those take 28 ft+ down at the time, search on google for Claas Disco contour. Or even better Claas Cougar, this monster cuts 45 ft!! |
| |
| Not necessarily - I hardly consider the JD rear ladder 'handy' to get to, even though it may 'look' better hidden away like that, there are still too many steps involved in getting it deployed, and then it's sturdiness leaves something to be desired... |
