| Looking at a tandem truck with a Detroit diesel 11.1 L, don't know much about them, are they good, bad or just stay away from them. 1997 year model if that helps. Thanks in advance for your input. |

Amherst WI | Should be okay in a tandem. I have one in a semi tractor and that is not the place for it. I also have a 3176 CAT in another semi tractor and the CAT will walk all over the Detriot even though it is 15HP less and a 9 speed instead of a 10 speed like what is in the Detriot truck. Good motor but their power is over rated IMO. |

Monticello Ar | We have an old fed ex truck with the 11.1. It's not a power house but it will pull decent. Does fine around 80k gross. Doesn't care much for 90 or so. These engines are fine engines with limited trouble. Ours has 870 something thousand miles on it and runs like a top. |
