Subject: International 700 plow value

NW Ohio
We have an International 700 7-16 on-land hitch plow. The boards, points, and cover boards are good. Coulter blades worn. Works fine. Faded paint. We really don't need it sitting around. I tried to find others like it to figure out pricing. All the ones I find have the long springs sticking up on the bottoms. Mine is different. I don't know what difference it makes. What price should I put on it to be fair to me and any interested person. TIA

Never seen on with that kind of automatic reset on it. Location helps, that can affect value by a factor of 10.

Those long springs are automatic reset models, your is what is called a toggle trip. Not having auto reset and being a 700 it probably will bring you more by the pound than for use. The only ones with much value anymore seem to be the 720 series. 20 years ago $4500 or so.

Toggle trip, 16" bottoms, 700 ridgid plow all hurt the value. $1,200.00 or less. We take items like that to an auction, what it sells for we accept as it's value. The IH 800 plow is the flex frame with 18" bottoms they usually sell for $5,000 plus.

Sold one many years ago, but an 8 bottom. Went to a friend, and he offered $2,500 for it. I took it, felt it was fair. At the time, plows were considered passe locally. Now starting to make a comeback, and prices reflecting it. Seeing several good Wil-rich 8-10 bottoms, auto reset, and flex frame going for $8-10,000. As to your's, the suggested $1,200 is probably not far off.

Last yr we purchased a very nice 7x16" on-land 720 plow for $2,500 that had spent most of it's life in a shed. E-mail me, I might be interested in yours if the "price is right". E-mail is in my profile.

I'd be interested if it were closer.  I'm not sure I want the hassle of hauling it that far.

central - east central Minnesota -

Toggle reset hurts it's value more then anything - around here anyway.
Seen 700 auto reset's (springs sticking up- not toggle) on craigslist, for that $1200 - $2800 price points.
It doesn't have the high residue trash clearance, neccessary for today's 200 bu residue - BUT, in your area, if the drought is taking it's toll - residue isn't going to be a concern ~
Good luck . . .

Everything here would have to be spring reset for rocks, the paint on yours is really faded, and the bottoms should have been painted or greased. Shows care was used.

I agree. It doesn't fit inside, and we haven't used it in years. The white on the boards is the white paint that is still there from when it was painted after its last use probably five or six years ago.

Not sure what the right price is for you. I was hoping for $2500, but it doesn’t appear that it’s gonna be that much. I guess I’m asking $1500 or best offer for the plow. email in profile
