Looking for a Rotary Ditcher, just starting my research.

Anybody have any experience with an Eagle vs a Wolverine? Any other good strong brands to look at?

As always, thx for your advice.

I'm also looking for a rotary ditcher, I'm under the impression that the Wolverine is the best one out there but have no experience other than watching them. I see one on Kijiji near you that is a demo

How much money are you willing to spend? How much HP do you have? How much dirt do you want to move? If you want the cadillac go with a liebrecht ditcher.... eagles and wolverines work ok if you don't have gumbo or rocky soil. I use a hurricane pull type model 24. It does what i want it to do, takes all of 150 pto hp to run. I can clean ditches and cut new ditches with a 24" wide cut. I set up a lazer mast and use it to cut the bottoms 6-8ft wide then use a 16' heavy box scraper to back slope. If money was no object I'd have a liebrecht ditcher, they move a massive amount of dirt but you'd better have 300 pto hp to make r' dig!

Wolverine+1 As long as you don't have any stones the Wolverine is better than the eagle

Central Mn.
We bought a hurricane last year and hit a rock with it within the first hour of use and broke the bottom pillar block and the shear pin forgot to shear. The dealer where we bought it ordered another piller in with no charge and told us to take out the shear pin and make sure that the paint didn' weld the two pieces togather witch was the problem. With the dry ground we had las fall I broke lots of pins but no other problems. The fertilizer spreader guys hate them though.Lol. I guess we need to dig though them before they get there.
