A few pages back I asked about Eby vs Wilson Al livestock trailers. Well I bought the Eby mainly because it was $2350 cheaper. Really liked the Wilson as it just seemed the hinges, hardware, and gooseneck were a little heavier and better designed. Downside would have been the flat punched sides are more easily dented and salesman recommended plywood lining. Eby salesman, whose name happened to be Eby but I'm told was no relation to the owners, was really agressive pricing his new trailer and my trade. Never heard any complaints about Eby and there are a bunch around. Extruded sides are less susceptible to denting. Got a tour of the Blue Ball, PA plant. A lot of automation in forming and cutting parts but still much skilled hand labor in laying out and welding. The model I bought happens to be made in OH. Wilson trailer was made of 5052 Al alloy while Eby was made from 6061 alloy which is a little stronger but not as bright and shiny. Eby used Chinese TowMaxx tires while Wilson used Chinese Carlisle tires so a wash there. Had I been making my living with this trailer and using it everyday I probably would have bought the Wilson but I'm sure I'll be pleased with the Eby. Now I'm waiting for a rainy day to go pick it up.

Croswell, Michigan | I bought a new Eby in 2000, sold it it '06 when the livestock went and got almost what I paid for it. I think you will be happy with it.

north west arkansas | I have heard alot of good things about Eby trailers and I am sure you will really enjoy it. Did you get the floating center gate? I have always heard and thought that would be a great option to have.

Didn't get the floating center gate although I did see that option on one they showed me. It made the gate stick out further into the inside and didn't fold as flush against the side. Didn't ask the price.

East central Indiana | Dont post much on this part of the site but seen the post. You will love your eby. We bought a brand new in 01 back my hayday of showin cattle. No longer have the cow but kept the trailer to haul furniture and seed in. Now it got moved to the tile ditching business i own and it takes a beaten and keeps on goin. We drag it every where and you would never know it. It has the floating cut gate. Was always nice with show cattle and nice now because we could take it clear out and haul tile fittings and atvs.

Mankato MN; Casa Grande AZ | I bought a 24' Eby Maverick in 2006, after the steel stringers under the floor gave out (road salt) on my old steel trailer. Mine was delivered out of the Story City, Iowa distributer. I looked at Wilson, but don't like the small punched vent holes. Too small to get my big hands through to open or close the side door from the inside. This Eby goes down the road so nice, I love it. I bought a nice one so it should last me until I'm out of hogs. And the interior light is nice too. I slide a coregated plastic strip in the slotted side in the winter. It comes in 4X8' sheets, and cuts with a utility knife. Cheap too, $25 sheet. I bought it from a Eby dealership here.
