central Minnesota
How many lbs per acre of urea do you broadcast for corn. Some acres are corn on corn and some were beans last year. I am also putting on 200 lbs of 10-12 24 dry fert on with the planter. Putting the urea on with a pull behind broadcast spreader. south central minnesota, good ground and not irrigated. Hope thats enough info. Thanks for the help Tom

Riley County Kansas
What is your yield goal? If it were me in our part of the country, I would probably broadcast 325-350# that would give you a total of approx. 170#-181# of N total including your starter. I would also use Agrotain and maybe include some ESN as part of your program. Remember that is for this part of the country where good ground might make 180 on a good year but more like a 150 normally.

As you know, the CoC will require a bit more N then the bean ground - due to residue break down.
Figure about one pound of N per bushel of corn you want . . . Don't forget some AMS for sulfer. On CoC maybe consider a strong pound of N per yeild goal bushel, w/AMS. . . . .

You do need to know your yield goal to determine the rate of urea per acre, but there is another option that mixes and protects the nitrogen by adding only one product to your urea and that is NZone Max. A new product that is very safe to you, your crop and the environment while feeding more nitrogen to the corn plant. An excellent product that brings more dollars to your bottom line.

In your location in MN, I'd look at 100# AMS for sure and for bean ground I shoot for 140-150# N for sure, and corn on corn I add another 40-50# N for a total about about 180-190# actual N.

"Here" the general rule is 1 "unit" per bushel. What is your yield goal? Its about 120 here, about the most we can make with conditions perfect. 46 units/100# of product (urea). Just depends on your yield goal.
