C IL | It is time for another "redo" of the '48 8N tractor. It has the Dearborn pipe loader.
What is a good paint that will look nice and last? The tractor still has to work a little - not too much.
Auto parts store has some PPG paint for about $35/gallon that they say is pretty good on toolbars.
I would like the original colors, if they can be determined.
Thanks! |

| Hood, fenders, and wheels are Ford gray. Engine, chassis, axles, hubs, and running boards are Ford red. Radiator and shroud probably should be black. Gas tank is not painted. IIRC, the Dearborn loader should be Ford red.

north-central Indiana west of Fulton | Automotive store should have good paint and be able to match Ford red and gray easily. We use PPG Omni ,but the last red we got was 125 dollars per gal. Our 8N was painted around '95 ( at that time we used Dupont Centari with a clear coat) and high dollar paint is worth it if you want it to last and look of high quality. Lost our local Dupont supplier so went to PPG. 8N picture taken today.
