Statesville, NC | I have a Woods BW180HD. It's the same as a BW180 with BW1800 gearboxes. It is a very good machine. Woods is easier to change blades on since you don't have to use a big wrench. Just keep anti-sieze on the blade pins. You will hear a lot of negative comments on here about the Woods Batwing, but they are all from the previous 3180 and earlier models. The new BW series has nothing in common with the 3180. It's about like saying a Farmall 806 is no good because a 560 was no good. Not a fair comparison. |

northeastern Ohio | I like my BushHog 2715 better than the woods, deere and landpride that I have ran in the past. |

Monticello Ar | One thing woods offers that I don't believe the others do is a 7yr gearbox warranty. It is on the HD models. I have seen them warranty gearboxes that were obviously abused. |

North Central Illinois | Honestly, we have a ten year old 3180 that has been trouble free other than a few friction discs on the slip clutches and replacing the CV joint on the driveline a couple of years ago. What is supposed to be so horrible about them? This mower will easily last another ten years. Now granted we really only use it for roadsides but it has been over a lot of miles. I think there are people that use and abuse batwings pretty hard in other applications. In that case maybe the Bushhog is better but for roadsides the old 3180 is very adequate. At one time the Bushhog was more expensive. |

Statesville, NC | M&W is the same as Rhino. Both part of the Alamo Group. |

Statesville, NC | I think any of them hold up under good conditions. One reason for Woods model change was they couldn't compete by building their own gearboxes. They are now buying the same Chinese gearbox that Bush Hog and many others use. Even though it has Woods or Bush hog cast in, it's still the same inside. Same deal with Deere. Leaping Deere on the side, but made in China. The 3180 had some innovative features, such as the slip clutch on the back side of the gearbox and all the wheels in the same line. They still seemed to have some gearbox issues despite them being US made. I think they simplified manufacturing with the BW series. If you look closely at a Bush Hog beside a BW series Woods, you will find the design is very similar. |

Brazilton KS | They are made to beat trees to death...how do you "abuse" them? LOL |

Brazilton KS | So is BushHog and Schulte and Tiger and Alamo and Bomford and McConnel and Rousseau and Twose and Spearhead and S.M.A, but their mowers are not all the same thing. |

Statesville, NC | I'm not sure which others might be the same machine, possibly some. I do know these two are identical. http://www.tractorhouse.com/listingsdetail/detail.aspx?OHID=6757763... and http://www.tractorhouse.com/listingsdetail/detail.aspx?OHID=6631477... Just noticed the price is about the same. Not sure the red paint is worth $50 more. |

| We have a really old woods. 40 years? 15 footer. Only maintance has been one seal went out, and it took out a gear box. It sheers a roll pin occasionaly. Otherwise, it has taken out a ton of trees. :) It'll may never leave the farm. It couldn't be abused much more, and it couldn't be much more reliable. |
