| How much harder do 4 inch cupped curved points pull compared to the 3 inch points? How much more trash do they cover? What do you think of them vs the regular twisted 3 inch points.
TIA |

Western KY | If you are wanting to hide the trash then the four inch does very well, however we now run only straight narrow shanks because we can getting deeper into the soil profile with less pull. The curved 4" do not go very deep unless you have a very large shank and spring above it. |

Dalhart, Texas | How much ridging do you get with the straights? I normally use the 4" and they do pull hard and cover well, but want to conserve more residue. |

s nd | What are you running for straights? I put a couple of those one inch big ones on with my regular five eighths ones back in 2010 and they seemed to burn off as fast as the thin ones. Maybe they run hotter and burn away casue they can't cool down, but dealer couldn't believe the two side by side. Don't think I ran them in the wheel tracks to wear faster either. 680 deere chisel. |

S.E. South Dakota | I run straights on my chisel plow. They pull easier and go deeper. They do not bury much but i do not care cause i only use it in bean stubble. |

NE SD | I always wondered how the Weise or Deere spikes with the chrome point would last. I think Weise makes them for Deere. We run 2" here as well. That's how we can pull 41' at 8" deep. |

Sharon, ND | Have had better luck wich nichols RA6 vs John Deere Chisel points... |

Western KY | Nichols last longer than Deere points. Straight shanks do not ridge as bad cause they act more like a vertical tillage practice. |
