| Who makes a good litter spreader? Stolzfus is junk. Pequea isn't much better. I'm leaning towards a BBI or a Lanco.
Thanks, |

| Stoltzfus used to be considered the best but someone did tell me they cheapened them up to compete on price. I would expect great things from Pequea based on their other equipment that I've seen. Don't know about Lanco. Here's my favorite: http://home.comcast.net/~sussexmachine/site/?/page/Spreadmaster_Spr...
Ruggedly simple. I don't need hydraulics to turn spinners and an apron chain. Bet you can find any parts you might need locally. |

Eastern VA. No such thing as too many Magnums. | Check Chandler and BBI. I never have spread litter, but those two seem to have a great reputation. Newton Crouch looks to me like the best fert spreader, but I don't know if they do litter spreaders.

Lancing, TN | We have used several Chandlers. They all seem to do a fine job. Only problem we have had with them is opening the tailgate too much and spilling product over the spinners. If you are going to buy new, get the largest tires the manufacture will put on them. That has alwasy been our biggest problem with the buggies, they want to put like a 11l x 16 tire on them. We put 23.1 x 26 tires on ours and what a world of differce! |

WCIA | Tebbe is the absolute best! You can spread anything sand, lime, dry or wet litter and cattle manure. |

Southern Indiana | Used a Chandler for 10 years with no problems. I would look at a BBI too. |

Roanoke, IN | for dry litter |
|

|
SE Minnesota | Have used Chandler for years for wet and dry turkey litter. No major problems except it may bridge up if loaded wrong. BBI looks about the same. |
|

|
SE Arkansas | I like our Adams 24' spreader. Haven't had any problems with it. |

algona iowa | Every spreader made has it's place in some ones operation. But for all the diferent types of manure and other solids we spread our TEBBES do the best for us. We do not have bridgeing problems and they have the best spread pattern of any thing being built so far. |

Brazilton KS | I wish all questions were that easy. I'll take Tebbe for 1000, Alex. |

MD. eastern shore. | We have a 22' bbi pulltype with hydraulic spinners, and a sussex 22' on a ten wheeler. They both seem to be good for us. Binkley and hurst had a big vertical beater spreader for sale in their ads about 2 weeks ago. If your looking for a beast. I think it was a demo. Also chandler is good. |

Do you see anyone ever designing a grower-class litter spreader? |

Downtown Shell Knob MO Come Visit! | Anything that doesn't leak litter out the back, and has a good chain 667x or better or 88k with 1/2 or 3/4 slats or a triple chain. I have a chandler, and BBI, The 18' BBI came with good stuff, the 22' chandler was woosy until I replaced the chain and spinners. If I had money and could buy a new one it would be a FSI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BButpI6lLM0&feature=related |

Smaller in capacity; a unit practical for a grower that does not need to purchase something of the magnitude of what Greg and Marc use in their commercial application operations.
Side note- I saw your sprayer in Tractorhouse. What did you end up purchasing? |
|
| |
|
| Yeah tire size is half the reason I want to change spreaders. I want to be able to spread is less than optimal conditions.
Someone said that the Tebbe is $75000. Don't want to spend that much lol |

Flandreau, SD | How small you want? This is the smallest one I think.

Downtown Shell Knob MO Come Visit! | I thought a grower class spreader was a used one. A good grower class spreader would cost 15k, you can buy a pretty nice used spreader for 15-20k |

SE Arkansas | I bought our 24' adams at the backgate sale last year for around $12,000. It hadn't been used much, still had paint on the chain and spinners. A new one that size was $18,000, if I remember correctly. Has a pto hydraulic pump that runs everything. |
